So, for the first time in 2020, SCG Radio returns for part one of a three-part series examining the year 1990 in the WWF. In part 1, I'm joined by Kyle Ross of Top Rope Nation to look at the WWF's struggles entering the year, the decision to go with Hulk Hogan Vs. Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 6, and go through the timeline of events that turned what was thought to be the biggest money match in three years to a colossal disappointment. Featuring all the facts and figured you'd expect, we break down the problems with the build to the show, issues with pay-per-view providers, Vince McMahon's initial foray into the bodybuilding world, problems with the heel side of the company, Vince's battle with Ed Tunney and the Canadian legal system, the WWF signing Mike Tyson to be a special referee in 1990 and the media fallout, and analyse the decision to move to the Ultimate Warrior as the top guy in the company and what the early indications were, as well as when the momentum started to crumble. A really in-depth look at the first third of 1990, check it out, enjoy, and stay safe!

Loved this. 1990 is the year I started watching WWF and loving The Warrior so it was great to hear all the ins and outs, leading up to WM 6. Looking forward to the next one.

It's not dead, we're still alive! We've recorded 2 episodes that havent been released just due to being busy, but they will be in a week or two (currently getting married/on honeymoon)...and we've been talking about doing something more regular when AEWs show starts up...

Glad to hear it's still going. Came on here for the first time in years to try find out if it was still going.

  3. Lone Star is brilliant. Eight Men Out is even better and essential even if you don't like baseball (it's about the 1919 Black Sox Scandal). I haven't seen any of his other stuff, which I really should rectify.

It's been a long time since I watched it, but I remember loving Lone Star. Will have to give it another watch.

  4. To offset the negativity I've posted in other threads here's a list of nice celebrities I've met.

Torrie Wilson - Stunning looking lady, and she came across as a nice lady. Was happy to talk to me and my son.

Ted DiBiase (jr) - full of life, happy to sign autographs and have a laugh while doing it.

Michael Barrymore - Might get a bit of stick for this but when I was 12 I went with my folks to see his live show while we were on holiday at Great Yarmouth. This was all before coming out as gay and the swimming pool incident. Anyway, he got me up on stage and chatted to me for a good 10 minutes before giving me some props to take home. It was the highlight of my holiday.

  5. People still defending him? LMAO. Is it because it cool to be anti media?

What does he have to do to make it his fault? You people need to wake up and smell the coffee. If we made him what he is which is ,lower than an animal then tough shit, im feed up of paying for his life if we cant kill him then lock him up and throw away the key.

People are now saying he shouldnt have been locked up at all? as it might spoil his childhood? Fucking laughable the fact is the guy is a fucking loon always was and clearly always will be. You can try and tell yourself he wasnt and we made him and all that other bullshit all you like.

Rick you say relaseing him would have been "terrify him" Maybe they should have

    1. Taken him a railway track and beaten him to death after blinding him with paint.

    2. Abused the fuck out him and took pictures.

See how scared the poor little mite is then. My only hope in all this is the poor parents dont get dragged into it again i think they have suffered more than anyone ever should.

With any luck the dad will do what he should have done a long time ago and track them down and butcher them, make no mistake about it someone did that to my boy i would have no problem killing them nice and slowly and as painfully as possible doubtful i would have cared how old they where or not.

Jon Venables may well be a fucking loon, I don't necessarily disagree with that. However, I find the anger in your posts a little scary as well. I think I'd cross the road if you both came towards me.

  6. I love the Star Trek universe but I didn't care for the new movie. It was ok at best. I didn't mind the acting I just didn't care for the story. Not entirely sure why, I just came out of the cinema thinking the film was a bit meh.

I might go see it a second time to see if my views change.

  7. Anyone who picks anything other than Under Siege is a fool.

On topic: Go and see Star Trek, when the masses are allowed in. I saw a preview screening in Australia a couple of weeks ago and it rules. I had to sign a thingy saying I wouldn't tell people what happens in it, but I can say it finally makes Star Trek cool and even if you're not a Trek fan, as I'm not really, it's a great, fun movie..

You know, I really hate you. You went to Australia to see behind the scenes of Superman Returns and now your telling us you've been back out in Australia and have seen the new Star Trek movie.

    Your a bastard! :)
