Maybe the Moxley thing is a more long term angle? Sammy somehow gets the win over him as he gets written out (taken out by MJF goons, JAS or something different (like Brody King) to spark his next feud). Danielson wins the title feuds with MJF but loses at the PPV.

After a few months of MJF talking about how he’s going to take the title to WWE unless he gets all the money, Moxley steps up and saves the AEW title.

My main disappointment this week is we didn’t get the Gunn club wearing neck braces hamming it up blaming Danhausen for the terrible pain they are in.

I thought it after Moxley teamed with Punk against FTR and Danielson promo which followed. But like it’s been said it’s just bad fantasy booking.

After the tease of Wardlow winning the TNT title, I really want to see Darby vs Wardlow for the TNT title.

I think it would be the perfect showcase for Wardlow as well as playing into the pillars stuff and getting Punk as there partner in the Blood and Guts match.

I also think the long term direction is Punk, Danielson and Moxley vs The Bucks and Hangman in a pseudo NWO thing, so if Punk loses to MJF it could play into him needing to “be more violent” and becoming a “bad guy”.

It’s pretty exciting what they could do going forward.

I think everyone in the HOOK segment deserves massive credit. Serpentico made HOOK look great, QT is the perfect person to run through next. It just feels really exciting.

It’s one of the things that has been missing the last few months in AEW for me. Someone feeling they are moving up the card.

Jade vs Anna was good. Jade seems best when she does have to do the complicated move sequences and can just brawl with here opponents.

This show left me excited for the next few weeks

I agree with what has been said here about the stars not fighting often enough.

I only started watching AEW around the time of Darby vs Miro where it felt like Darby was rising through the ranks but you knew Miro was a monster which made there TNT title match so exciting.

It also felt like you had things paying off all the time (even if that wasn’t the case). But now they don’t seem to do many star vs star matches as all the stars want to win. 

Its almost like another version of the 50/50 booking - where they don’t want to pick so everyone gets a win. In AEW they don’t want to pick so you get lots of winners vs loser feuds. it’s 100/0 booking. Multi Man matches always have there stars and there losers for example again removing the jeopardy from things.

Adam Cole vs Orange Cassidy could be a star vs star match but they have made it clear that Cole is the star and Cassidy is there to lose even if he gets a win here and there (so maybe 80/20 booking). 

So yeah, I want AEW to make more choices and have some stars lose more often.

Hook reminds me of how music has gone. You take small samples of cools things/beats (Hip Hop entrance theme, Tazplex, Monster selling, Walk off after victory) and elevate them by mixing them together and adding your own additions.

That’s probably overthinking the character but it seems to be what Hook is currently.

My first response to Cody winning was just “well”.

I don’t really dislike Cody like a lot here his stuff just seems to be stuff which happened. I was kinda looking forward to Sammy and Scorpio Sky as most the time you can see the TNT title changes coming and I kinda like that over them just happening.

Hook is just cool isn’t he, when he popped up like Taz I popped. He still needs a load more matches but he just has something.

Surely Hangman is a surprise return to win the ladder match next week? It seems set up for him to jump back to the top ready for the PPV.

I also think they missed a trick not having Britt say that he was sleeping with her during that segment. Although I might have just missed it.

I was thinking they might go with the Bucks losing and then moving onto Punk and Danielson.

You can then have your Omega stuff by doing some trios matches including Hangman which would be pretty cool.

I hope they go fully Rocky time limit draw with Kingston so Miro and him can smash each other up.

Surely this is why Garcia and 2.0 are facing Darby and Sting.

They interrupt Darby in the ring on Rampage so Punk, Sting and Darby can go through there finishers before the “welcome back” promo

They could run the same spot as the Jan 4th Raw - loads of interference, people brawling everywhere, Kenny sets up for the One Winged Angel, Hangman's music hits, Buckshot, drag Christian onto Omega and have Christian win the belt. 

The Elite then take Christian out the next week and he offers Page his shot (or he goads Omega into giving him the shot).

With regards Christian- what about if it was announced as him v Omega fot the title but at last minute he says 'I have a friend above me in the rankings who deserves another shot first - Jungle Boy'? 

Maybe the best way is for Christian to rub it in Page and the Dark Orders face that he’s got the shot, as the catalyst for his heel turn. Have one of the Elite cost him, him blame Jungle Boy and sign up with Hardy as he needs better allies and things go from there.

Potentially then gives Page and easy first retention over a heel Christian in the future.

It's supposed to be the biggest and grandest show of the year and I thought it would be a cool way to make it slightly more interesting than an empty arena match over and over.

Maybe they could orchestrate some of the matches to replace the crowd noise. If you aren't having a crowd and can pre-tape the shows (potentially), it would give you something unique during this period.
