  1. He'd get absolutely murdered against Hatton.

Why? Hatton's fought one welterweight, who by his own admission can't punch, and got rocked to fuck. I get the feeling Ricky is another British 'superstar' who may well get a reality check in the near future.
Collazo can't punch? What was he doing with a world title then?
  2. Did someone just say they'd turn down Trish Stratus?Cut off your cock and leave it at the door on your way out. It's wasted on you. That's if you were given one in the first place.

  3. Why? There was no coverage of the fight. If there was then I would. If you have to download a fight to see it then it's not a spoiler.

The fight is being shown on Sky Sports on Wednesday night :/
TV spoilers from the States I'll agree with hiding. Wrestling spoilers here to me is a joke but I play by the rule with it. Real sport spoilers? I'd rather quit coming to this board. If I tape a football match because I can't watch it live, I don't expect the world to stop talking about it around me. And if you come into a boxing thread and not expecting spoilers then you are an idiot in my book. There aren't even spoilers! I don't know why I'm even discussing this.
  4. Carl Froch isn't with Frank Warren. And he could draw flies with 2 hand fulls of shit. There is no way this show should still be in Cardiff. They need a genuine world title fight on this show. Maybe rush Alex Arthur into a shot. Can't think of anyone else that deserves one other than David Haye and that's not gonna happen.

  5. One of last weekends Sunday papers said that Peter Manfredo was in the frame to be his opponent. The same Peter Manfredo who was in 'The Contender' reality show with Stallone & Sugar Ray Leonard.

Why not? People at least know him here and he beat Scott Pemberton. They were calling Jeff Lacy a mini Tyson after he fought him. Pemberton is a nothing but if it was good enough for Lacy to get a shot...
  6. I am resurrecting this thread to have a public whinge about Frank Warren failing yet again to find an opponent for Joe Calzaghe. It's bullshit

How dare you!TBC is a very good opponent and has boxed on many of Frank Warrens cards. In fact this is the 2nd time he has faced Calzaghe :/
You gotta be kidding me? STILL no opponent?
  7. i cant believe they didnt make a fuss about Judah throwing a punch at Roger Mayweather, it was shown about 50 times but the commentators kind of avoided it.

I hate Judah but if you get in that ring and you aren't being paid to fight then I think any fighter is within their right to defend any possible attack no matter how probable it is.The minute Roger Mayweather got in the ring, it should have been an automatic DQ and a win for Judah. But they can't have the poster boy losing now can they?Harrison is a complete joke. I was one of very few willing to give him another chance after the Williams farce but his career is over now. Can't believe he is fighting on. He must have squandered the BBC million he got.
  8. Blah blah fucking blah. That's your arguement? I don't deserve to watching boxing? You don't know shit about me dude or what fights I like and don't like. Thanks for thinking of me though all mighty lord of boxing.

  9. Eastman was vastly overrated. He wouldn't have lasted 3 minutes with Benn, Eubank, Watson or Collins back in their day.

And yet he managed to go twleve rounds with Hopkins? Even the sleepwalking version of Hopkins that fought Eastman would have taken all of the above apart piece by piece - Eubank would have gone the distance because of his immense chin but th other two would have come off a hell of a lot worse than Eastman did.
Leave me out. Benn would have absolutely torn Hopkins apart. Bernard Hopkins, in my opinion, is arguably the most overrated figther I've ever seen. And I've seen plays more exciting than his fights. Honest to God - PLAYS!
Hopkins fights werent exciting because he was so good that he could - with the exception of the Jones fight - choose how he wanted a fight to go. You are aware that hopkins fought in a deliberately boring manner if he felt he was being underpaid? - just look at his madatory defences if you dont believe meAs for Benn tearing him apart - that really is comical. Please provide us with a least of the amazing fighters Benn has torn apart during his career - you'll find its short list and full of fighters who for one reason or another were shot to pieces (or in the case of McClennan weight drained beyond belief)
The fact you believe Hopkins fought deliberately boring fights says it all for me. Don't you think he was underpaid because he was so boring that people wouldn't pay to see him? He had his biggest ever purse against De La Hoya and still managed to send most of the audience to sleep. And he turned down a purse over $4 million to fight Joe Calzaghe.

  11. Junior Witter looks like he'll be fighting for the WBC light welterweight title now since Mayweather has apparently vacated it. Supposed to be fighting Demarcus Corley for it.

  12. I cannot believe 1 judge had such a different result to the others. They'll have a rematch, Rahman will likely win on a split decision. But so far Rahman has haeld the WBC title twice, defended the title twice and has not won a defence. To light the division again they should do Brewster or Byrd Vs Rahman so they can get some unification. Valuev will unlikely take a difficult opponent til he has to face his mandatory challenger.

Just downloaded the fight and I'd agree with the judge who had Rahman the winner by six more than I'd say Toney got a draw. Rahman won it easy by at least 3 or 4.
  13. Not saying they will overtake boxing. MMA will definately compete with it though. You are always going to find the boxing purists who will just bury MMA for being "human cockfighting" even though the injury rate in comparison to boxing is on another level. No deaths as a direct result of a legal MMA match. This weight cutting thing needs to stop though.

  14. Difference is that MMA is growing and growing and boxing is dying. The general public are sick of the Mike Tyson's of the world. They are sick of fixed fights and dodgy decisions. MMA is a whole new world. And on PPV, they aren't a mile apart now when it comes to PPV buys or live gate money. Can't use the star power arguement either. Take away Hatton and you'd struggle people who are casual boxing fans who actually know more than 2 current world champions. Take away Tyson and Amir Khan and you'd struggle to find people who could name 5 current boxers! You can easily find the same comparison in the States. And I'd bet more people know The Rock, Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan than Oscar De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins and Floyd Mayweather in the States and that doesn't make pro wrestling bigger than boxing either.
