I wouldn't be surprised if the Flair podcast is on the way out. This is the 4th week in a row it's been a rehash from stuff he recorded years ago and even prior to that, every other week seemed to be a rehash too. Flair's happy to go on other podcasts that presumably pay well, but he hasn't put any effort into his own one for months. The whole historical looking back ones had been abandoned in favour of him talking about football or current WWE shows. A month or so he seemed to be hinting that he'd prefer to do a podcast with Arn so maybe Conrad could get a bit of life out of that, as supposedly Flair and Arn are friends again.

Yet another rehash for the Flair podcast this week.... Hmmmmm.

In other news, Ted Dibiase's new podcast called, quite appropriately, "Everybody's got a pod" went up today. Hopefully they've had the foresight to record loads of episodes in advance as Ted will first be on trial, and then possible in the slammer in the near future...

  3. I see the DDP and Jake podcast has, like the Arn one before it, been demoted to being Conrad-less and in this case, sans DDP too from this week. You can always tell which Conrad podcasts aren't doing as well when he farms them out to underlings.

  4. It was a painful listen and I could tell Flair was tuned out for the last 5 weeks or so. Madden says they lost the deal with podcast one anyway so Flair's obviously looking to blame someone. He's obviously back on the sauce big time, especially since he split with Wendy Barlow.

Conrad will do a more structured one but I can see it failing after maybe 2 months. I'm guessing they won't try the old style of them talking to another guest again as Flair has burned so many bridges now.

Probably be better if Flair only did one once a month for all concerned but I guess that doesn't make any money.

  5. According to wrestlingdvdnetwork.com, WWE releases on physical media, at least in North America and Australia, are finished. Freemantle will release a couple next year in the UK possibly but after that who knows...

It’s with a very heavy heart we must pass on the news to our readers that WWE DVDs and Blu-rays will no longer be offered in the United States beginning 2022.

WWE Home Video has had a physical media presence with DVDs since 1999, dating back further with VHS since 1985 (taking into account Coliseum Video). Over the years WWF/E would release their content on physical media via several formats; VHS, Betamax, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-ray and even UMD.

The update sadly means 2021 will have been the last year for WWE Home Video in the home market, which includes Canada too since those releases were closely aligned with the US.

As for reasoning behind the move, while specifics haven’t been stated to us, the why is probably the obvious and in the end will boil down to revenue, coupled with the company putting less emphasis on DVD and Blu-ray in recent years and more of a focus on new content for the WWE Network and Peacock, whereby WWE content is streamed online.

    The final releases
The first WWE DVDs ever released were WrestleMania 15 and one on Stone Cold Steve Austin.

As it stands now, Survivor Series 2021 will be the final US WWE DVD release, which will be available on December 28th. Drew McIntyre’s DVD is also still to come this month, which will mark the last Superstar-themed DVD release in the US, scheduled for December 14th.

    Australia
Unfortunately, no more US offerings means the same for fans in Australia. Like Canada, the Australian WWE DVDs closely followed the US; WWE in the US produced assets and carried out authoring for both the domestic and Australian DVDs, which we hear will not be taken on by the Australian licensee.

Madman.com.au will be releasing the remaining PPV DVDs of 2021 though — Extreme Rules in December, Crown Jewel in February and Survivor Series, Australia’s final DVD, in March.

    In the UK, however…
There is a glimmer of hope in this otherwise not-so-festive December update — the UK appears to be carrying on alone with new WWE DVD titles in 2022, until March at least.

As we’ve reported, Fremantle have new PPV DVDs scheduled beyond Survivor Series, including Day 1 and Royal Rumble. That hasn’t changed. It’s unclear what happens after those, but potentially due to better performance of WWE DVDs in the UK and Europe, we may be seeing a situation whereby WWE Home Video actually continues on in that region (at least this is the hope).

Sad to see this, I've never gone down the network route, not least because they can pull anything they like, where as my physical media is mine to play for years to come. I have no interest in the current product so I haven't watched a PPV for years (since Wrestlemania 24 probably!)

Be ironic if we outlast North America, but if they end up sticking the network on our Peacock the writing is on the wall I guess.

  6. There will be a new co-host who is, supposedly, a 'major name sportscaster' whoever and whatever the hell that is supposed to mean. Shame as thought Conrad worked well with him, whoever replaces him will probably not have the same love for the business and they'll just talk about sodding gridiron half the time.

  7. Nothing major but I see the Title History section of wwe.com has been changed. All Benoit's Title reigns are still listed but all photos and text in relation to them have been removed.

I wouldn't bet against him being retropectively stripped of those titles you know.....................
  8. All we need is for the bloody Tabloids to start shouting 'Wrestler killed son with wrestling move' and they'll be hysterically baying for Sky to take WWE off the air....... :sneaky:

  9. I read this in a free London paper today. Shocking.Nobody knows exactly what happened yet, but WWE will have to work overtime to rehabilitate Benoit. If he had killed another wrestler in fight and then topped himself that would be one thing, but for the foreseeable future he is persona non-grata in terms of glowing memories.I was never a Benoit fan, he lacked the charisma needed, but was a solid wrestler and I respected his workrate.Another wrestler connected with the Hart family has a tragic end......................

  10. That said, it is obvious that prostitues are a major target and in serious danger. The fact that ladies are still " working " implies that there are still active " customers " in the area- which in itself is a disgrace.

There is nothing wrong with Prostitution, it is how it has been forced underground where there is no protection either for the clients or the Women that is the disgrace. How many Prostitutes working in the Red Light area in Amsterdam are brutaly murdered? I've never heard of one, because it is accepted and both the customer and the woman are given protection by the Police. The fact that an ex-government minister just pulled a face of disgust when a similar model was suggested on Newsnight represents everything that is wrong with this santamonious government, who only tolerate Sex if it conforms to a precise New Labour versiuon of what's 'right'.
  11. "On the Time Magazine internet balloting for Man of the Century,Ric Flair is now in third place trailing Jesus and Adolf Hitler.Raven is in ninth place"

    My personal favourite.
He was number one at one point, I should know, I voted for him!!!!Then Time chopped the list down so that only people they considered 'appropriate' were left. Democracy only when it suits them for Time Magazine
  12. As has been said we've probably all been expecting this for some time, doesn't make it any less sad though.Tenta really did seem to be a great guy, and performed as well as he could, always entertaining the crowd in his own way.RIP
