  1. Also, the next episode has a swashbuckling female character called 'Jenny'. I won't, but does anyone need that spelling out...?

I'm sure if you follow the daughter path, you'll get there.

I dunno where they got the idea that she was called Jenny, actually. She was called Lorna. Very odd.

Those were two different characters. Lorna was the girl that was working for the clerics, Jenny was the Silurian's maid/girlfriend.

  2. Like everyone else, I'm stunned.I was on the net but hadn't looked at any wrestling sites for a couple of hours, so I knew nothing about it until the tribute graphic at the start of Raw. RIP Chris & family.

  3. - With Jimmy Hart managing The Hart Foundation, where the audience ever led to believe that he was related to the tag team?

Not that I recall, Mean Gene & Monsoon would always acknowledge Bret being Stu Hart's son and never mentioned anything that could relate Bret & Jimmy.
That just reminded me of Mick McManus' bizarre claim that Jimmy Hart was Bret's brother in the wrestling column that he had in one of the cable/satellite listings magazines in the early 90s.
  4. Superstars opened that week with Gene Okerlund announcing that Bret had won the title and bringing him out for an interview. I remember being genuinely shocked when he said "Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW WWF Champion..." and Bret's music played.

I nearly pooed my pants when Okerlund started talking because I thought he was about to say "The Ultimate Warrior". When Hart's music played I was in major shock.
Yeah, exactly. Bret hadn't been in the world title picture other than facing Flair on a couple of house shows and in the current storylines Warrior was being hyped as the next challenger, so it was completely out of the blue.
  5. What's the meaning of life?Seriously; was the Hart/Flair match from the early 90s ever televised? If Bret won his first title at a house show, did they just have him suddenly come out on TV with the title?

It wasn't televised (but was later released on video).Superstars opened that week with Gene Okerlund announcing that Bret had won the title and bringing him out for an interview. I remember being genuinely shocked when he said "Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW WWF Champion..." and Bret's music played. There were a few untelevised title changes back then (various tag title switches, Hart/Mountie for IC Title) so in context it wasn't as odd as it sounds now.
  6. When was the last time someone played two different characters on TV at the same time, like the current Simon Dean/Nova situation? I don't mean if it was part of their gimmick, like Foley. But where WWE havn't actually acknowledged they are the same person.

Probably Steve Lombardi. He was doing Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz ("on strike" in the crowd") while still appearing as the Brooklyn Brawler in the ring. I think. I'm pretty sure when he was doing the Bushwhackers kangaroo, he was also still wrestling under at least one gimmick - possibly Doink, or possibly still BB as well.
We had a bit of a discussion about this the other day in another thread, and yeah, Lombardi was the best we could come up with without it being a gimmick. He certainly did the Brawler & Kimchee at the same time.
How many different gimmicks did Lombardi work under for fuck sake?
The Brooklyn BrawlerKimcheeDoink #3MVPKnuckleball Schwartz (basically the same as MVP)The Black Knight (on UK house shows in '93, with Barry Horowitz as The Red Knight)The Bushwhackers' Kangaroo mascotThe Boston Brawler, I supposeDid I forget any?
  7. Has Sean Waltman ever wrestled Rob Van Dam?

Yes. Don't know how often, but im sure they opened the show at a Glasgow house show at the secc back in April 2002. Don't know if they ever had a match on tv though.
I am amazed that these two have never had a TV or taped match considering they are about the same age and have very similar gimmicks (their martial arts influenced offence, not to mention their love of the weed) but thinking about it when Sean was in NJPW, Rob was in AJPW and when Sean was criss-crossing between WWF & WCW, Rob was in ECW. Have they even been in the same promotion together apart from 2001 WWF? This match has suddenly entered my 'dream match' list, even if it is nearly 10 years too late.
They had a match on Raw in 2002 when X-Pac was in the NWO. RVD won, I think it may have been a King Of The Ring qualifier.
  8. is axe of demolition fame still alive and if so any recent pics i ask cause i saw a pick about five years ago and he looked golse to andre the giant in size so i'll be suprised if he is still going

He's still alive, he's made appearances at a few of those wrestling legend conventions. He must be about 60-something by now.
  9. What happened to Nailz? I loved that guy, then after he accused Vince of sexual advances, he was history.....he had the superstar look and everything...

Nailz appeared in WCW as The Prisoner, a few months after he left the WWF. He wrestled Sting in a match at Slamboree '93. After that, it appears he was one of the many WCW wrestlers who sat at home collecting a paycheque for doing absolutely nothing. I could be wrong but I think he officially came off of the WCW payroll come late 2000/early 2001.Nice work if you can get it, sitting at home doing nothing. I wish I had been a WCW wrestler.
There was suggestions that he was getting a pay check just because Bischoff loved him for beating on Vince. I think he might have done stuff in the AWF in 95 as well, though I'm nowhere near sure on that...
He worked for New Japan around late '94. I remember him teaming with Ron Simmons in a tag tournament and a singles bout where he was squashed by El Gigante.
  10. More ECW questions:Was there any storyline reason why Jenna Jameson accompanied the Dudleyz to the ring at Hardcore Heaven 1997?and how many ECW appearances did she make altogether?I only ever saw her in ECW at Hardcore Heaven 1997 and Living Dangerously 1998. I also saw as part of the opening credits around that time she was stood in front of the Hardcore Heaven logo dressed differently to how she appeared at the ppv and I thought she might have been on TV leading up to that show or the other ppv she appeared on.

She was in one or two short segments on ECW Hardcore TV. I vaguely recall a skit with her and John Kronus where she pushed his face into a cake or something.
  11. There were at least 3 battle royals on ECW TV. One around late 94 or early 95, won by Ron Simmons. One in 95 won by Mikey Whipwreck, IIRC he eliminated Marty Jannetty to win. And a Royal Rumble type one around 96/97, which Sabu won by eliminating Brian Lee.
