  2. The Dirt Bike Kid vs. Karl Kramer

Why do you believe that Karl Kramer sidestepped your cannonball body block

on May 31st 1995 and, in your opinion, did the resulting injury cut your

    career short?

Yes, and he is a low-life. He knows what he did, he's admitted it to various people and goes round bragging that he ruined DBK's career. To be honest, he's a weak person, who couldn't stand up for himself when being pressured by the old fossils in Brian Dixon's All-Star Wrestling Circuit. Up until that time, I thought he was a friend. I was very wrong. And thankfully I came out of it, not paralysed, and learned a valuable lesson that I always adhere too, when dealing with and trusting people.

What are your thoughts on Karl Kramer now?

    Who?

Have you spoken to him since?

    Who?

  3. Gettin', a Death Match thread.

Been watching CZW 2005 and had forgotten the two Butcher/Klein vs. Pain/Gage tag matches that happened that year. I recommend a look-see, as well as the Cage of Death VII match with all four men and Zandig & Joker.

  4. I remember some of the great Powerslam lines. This one still makes me laugh: ''Chris Benoit hits the least believable move in wrestling today, the multiple Germans. Benoit is so small his opponent has to get up and into position for the next one before Benoit does. He could only hit this move realistically is he was wrestling Buzz Lightyear.''

  5. Nothing to do with anything but it amuses me:

Powerslam used to say nice things about Botchamania in the magazine. I entered a contest via e-mail as 'Maffew' and Fin e-mailed me back saying ''THE Maffew?'' and I said ''yes, sorry''. He replied back ''Don't be, I am not easily offended''

A year or so later those shite articles by Matthew Randazzo V started popping up in larger doses, so I sent an e-mail asking him if anybody could start write for the magazine now, as it read that way. He sent an angry reply back, saying how offended he was.

    Botchamania hasn't been mentioned since.

    :D

  6. Thanks a lot! In the space of 4 posts I've had pretty much all my questions answered. Some of which before I even asked them.

These sets will tide me over until I find someone with Legendary Nights on DVD.

  7. Bloody hell, I went a little off-track there, but yeah, those DVD sets are brilliant :D

I don't suppose you know/would be willing to share the match listings? Amazon doesn't seem to show listings for either.

And I love the avatar too :D

  8. Thinking about other solutions what could help with the younger ones anyway.

What about having victims of crime come into school to give a talk about how crime ruined their life plus maybe even school trip to a prison and have some of the prisoners talk to them and show them their future if they decide to take up a life of crime even if it only discourages a small percentage of the ones who may of been heading that way it would be worth it.

I had that at school. Worked for me, I didn't want a urine-covered knife thrust into me.

Nowadays I feel the lack of fear about prison/jail/police contributes in a small way to things like this. I have no basis for this other than speaking with some ex-school friends recently on this subject.

  9. Oh, and here's my contribution (from the Kevin Sullivan shoot interview, courtesy of http://thesmartmarks.com/old_site/artman/p...ticle_420.shtml

Why did he leave the business in the early 90's?

He had problems with Jim Herd (surprise, surprise... NO ONE got along with this asshole.) "I couldn't get along with a pizza guy who wanted Ric Flair to be Spartacus, he wanted a peg-legged wrestler, a hunchbacked wrestler, etc." As a joke, he told Herd that he'd wrestle the hunchback at an outdoor stadium, take him out of the ring, dig a hole, and stick his back in it so he could get the shoulders to the match. Herd's response was "GREAT, we'll do it at Turner Field!"and Sullivan was dumbfounded. "What the fuck was HE doing running a wrestling company?"

  10. Stunning thread.

The Higher Power storyine (in WCW, obviously):

I remember seeing some of this when it was running, when a faceless character would talk to people in his booking room and make decisions for the night and such.

Does anyone remember where that lead to? VM initials, according to this thread...
