  1. It seems the mods on here have joinedĀ

The New Jersey inbredio cheer squad.

grotesque as they look, you have to laugh.Ā
    Ā

    Now you can remove meĀ

because I donā€™t want to stay here with a guy that has a face like a pillsbury dough boy and genome of an Austrian DukeĀ

  2. I have long since waited for Sandman to be made into a TV show and the pilot is mere weeks away.

    Ā

Neil Gaiman was always a favourite of mine as a teen.

Reading Preacher and Sandman was always a great way to pass the time (I was never a fan of lucifer)Ā

Since then Iā€™ve read most of Gaimanā€™s books and find most to be worth reading especially American Gods.

    Ā

Sandman was always my favourite though. I love how Gaiman added Greek mythology and such in to his comics.Ā
    Ā
Netflix are releasing the show in AugustĀ

if itā€™s half as good as Preacher then itā€™s certainly one to watch out for.

  3. It has potential.Ā
Iā€™m probably going to buy it and see if I can add the scene from terminator, the scene from the future with all the human skulls everywhere.

If I can get a good enough copy, I would add it to the black part of the T-Shirt so itā€™s on the back as well.Ā

Yeah, a match that totally passed me by at the time but that I recently saw, Bret & Cena vs Del Rio & Ricardo. Of course, the finish was Sharpshooter on Ricardo.

    Appropos to this thread, Iā€™d known about the MSG shows but had no idea that Bret had tagged along on a few European dates in November 2010, usually tagging with the Hart Dynasty against three of Slater, Gabriel, Otunga and Husky Harris. If heā€™d come to Britain on that tour 100% Iā€™d have gone. Interestingly his final house show match was in Istanbul tagged with Edge and Rey against Del Rio, Cody and Drew. Some footage is on YouTube, including the finish ;

Ah, just what we need as a refreshing antidote to the MeToo threadā€¦ an ā€œanticsā€ thread. Donā€™t worry, the antics didnā€™t die in the 80s. Wrestlers and people in wrestling carried on being horrific to each other and to innocent members of the public for decades to come. Iā€™d be surprised if thatā€™s not Vinces defence - ā€œIt was only antics, guv.ā€

    Antics.

    Just what I need Ā

an airhead replying to everything I say.Ā
    Ā

why donā€™t you skip along and scratch your own ballsĀ

that seems to be more on your intellectual levelĀ
    Ā

You look like a New Jersey Inbredio

    Ā

are you sure you are from the uk?

    I need proofĀ

Thatā€™s got fuck all to do with house shows, right?

I think you want the ā€œanticsā€ thread.

    Nope , I have the right thread.Ā

and the event that followed was at a house show and letā€™s be honest itā€™s better than any other story in this threadĀ
    Ā

  7. To many it was the greatest era of wrestling to many backstage it was known as the swan song to crazy antics and illegal happenings behind closed doors.

To me it was the true era of tragedy in wrestling.Ā
    Ā

We had so many hot prospects who later died after making it in whatever promotion they were with at the time from the Adrian Adonis who died at the young age of 34 to the true young prospects in guys like David and Mike Von Erich.Ā
    Ā

No matter how hard I search through these promotions, I always miss certain classic matches or backstage heat or antics.

A few matches to get us started but please feel free to post matches by prospects who more than likely would have been major players in wrestling by the early to mid 90s.

  8. There is also a famous story where Tony Atlas had on nut huggers and asked the guys back stageĀ

    is this alrightĀ

    everyone repliedĀ

    yep that worksĀ

so he gets to the ring and Harley Race is looking at himĀ

    likeĀ

what the hell are you doing?

    thereā€™s kids here!!šŸ˜‚

Fair to say there was a few mishaps that match.

    Ā

  9. This must have been a mid 70s story but Iā€™d love to see footage of a house show with Harley Race.
While on a night out before the show the following night, Harley was in a bar and managed to get into an altercation with an MCC.Ā
    Ā

Harley was in the main event the following night,so he goes out does his thing and it was custom back then to wait in ring after the main event then sign autographs after.Ā
    Ā

So the match ends, the crowd thins out and Harley looks into the crowd to find the same MCC into which he had the altercation the previous night.Ā
So Harley challenges the leader of the gang to a fightĀ

there are different versions of this storyĀ

one involves a knife but the other involves Harley beating this guys face so bloody so quickly, then he proceeded to choke the guy out.

The guys in the MCC thought their leader was dead(obviously he wasnā€™t) but Iā€™d love to see what the true story is.Ā
knowing Harley , either could be possible.

Bloody hell. If UnitedEmpireEra had joined the forum years ago we could've sorted all this shit out way quicker.

    LOLĀ

I have my own conclusions but with the info we have, that looks like the most likely scenario.

Thereā€™s a documentary on Aaron Hernandez on Netflix or prime, itā€™s well worth a watch if you want to see the damage Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy can do to athletes minds.Ā
    Ā

They become confused, then they get angry due to the fact they are confused and donā€™t know why , before long they are in a deep state of psychosis and donā€™t know where fantasy ends and reality begins.Ā
    Ā

This causes athletes with CTE to have fits of rage into which they have no control over during but then come to realise what theyā€™ve done after these rage black outs.Ā
    Ā

That probably explains what happened with Chris and Nancy but thatā€™s only speculation since there is probably important info not being divulged.

  11. There are so many mitigating factors when it comes to Benoit and the death of his family then his suicide which followed.Ā
    Ā

Chris Benoit had suffered repetitive concussions which had a serious effect on his brain and mental stability.

Aaron Hernandez was a pro NFL player for the Patriots who was convicted of first degree murder and let go on another charge in another state.Ā
He committed suicide in prison the same day he was found not guilty of the second charge being brought against him.

    Aaron suffered repetitive concussions too.

When they opened up Aaronā€™s brain, it was similar to that of a 78 year old Alzheimerā€™s patients brain.Ā
    He was only 27.

Then we need to take into account the years of steroid abuse, which his wife mentioned countless times to close friends.

Plus he was writing to Eddie Guerrero in a diary, which can be a good coping mechanism for people dealing with tragedy but his way was always leaning towards the extreme.Ā
He wanted to be reunited with Eddie and decided at one point or another that he did not want to die alone.Ā
    Ā

I think he killed his wife then immediately regretted it.

Once he realised what he had done there was no going back and he decided to follow through on his plan to take his family with him into the afterlife.

I do not condone in any way shape or form the actions he decided to take but I do understand that mental health and wrestling are the greatest of enemies.Ā

    Ā

For further example , watch dark side of the ring.Ā
Most of the info relayed seems to check out.
