  1. Hogan vs The Giant, Halloween Havoc 1995. Not the best way to end a 469 days long reign.

For those not familiar with it:

    Quote

In the main event Hogan was disqualified after Hart hit the referee with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt. Hart then turned on Hogan by hitting him with the title belt and joined the Dungeon of Doom. After the match The Yeti came to the ring and assisted Giant by putting Hogan in a double bearhug, so that they were both crushing Hogan at the same time (in what is considered one of the most awkward moments in pro wrestling history). Randy Savage came to the ring to try to save Hogan, as did Lex Luger. Lex Lugerturned on Savage by attacking him and then put Hogan in the Torture Rack, joining the Dungeon of Doom. The Giant took the belt from the referee after the match and left with it; Jimmy Hart later revealed that he had a clause put in the contract that the title could change hands on a disqualification, but a week later on Nitro, The Giant was stripped of the title, because the disqualification was due to Hart's interference,

  2. So I have been watching some Dustin Rhodes from 1994 and he is very over. So given that, and what we saw from him at Double Or Nothing this year, would he have better off staying in WCW or leaving for WWF in 1995? He was fired, so it wasn't much of a choice. Eric Bischoff has said the plan was to bring him back shortly ofter the blood incident, similar to how Daniel Bryan was fired and rehired by WWE in 2011, but WWF hired him before he got a chance to so that didn't happen.

Obviously he had success in WWF and the Goldust character is somewhat iconic and he got a big Wrestlemania match with Piper. But from 1997 he was relegated to midcard, and when he was brought back in 2002 in later he was mainly used as a nostaligia act although he had two good tag runs, one with Booker and one with Cody.

But how would things have turned out if he stayed in WCW? He was a homegrown guy so could have been a key player along with Sting and DDP in the war against nWo. Bischoff has said he would have liked to use him in that role.

So what do you think would have worked out better for him, leaving like he did or staying in WCW?

  3. Even it they hadn't gone in 1992, it would still have been tempting for them to go later when they were super hot, especially as they wouldn't have that "we can't do ppv's in England because of the time zone difference" excuse which stopped them from going later. How was their business in Europe and Bulldog's popularity in 1997 compared to 1992?

  4. Looks like Bruiser Brody. At least it wasnt a Charlie Manson shirt. (Some morons actually wear that shit.)

Thanks. I will have to study up on my wrestlling history. There's another thing I've been meaning to ask. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/nyheter/stor...1106320,00.html wrote that this wasn't the first time that Chris Benoit has used violence against his son Daniel and their source for that is Foxnews. Despite following the events over the last three days I have never heard anything of that nature. I also looked on foxnews.com but didn't find anything about that. Aftonbladet, despite being the no 1 newspaper in Sweden, is a tabloid and isn't known for its credibilty, especially when they're writing about something such as wrestling, which they have no clue about so it wouldn't surprise me it they got this wrong. Has anyone here heard or read about Chris Benoit having a history of using violence against his son?
  5. Oh, and as far as the ESPN Zone meet up people are talkin about - ESPN Zone defintely does not show Smackdown - the only place we've found that shows wrestling is a little pub called the Wee Molly - which is on 30th St & 8th near MSG.

Will people be going there instead then? Also, is it the same time, 6:30-7:45 pm on Friday for Smackdown?/stefan
  6. Speaking of the importance of Wrestlemania, do they air the promo for it (which has been fantastic the last three years and I expect nothing less this year) live at the arena or is it just for the ppv audience? How have they done this the previous years?

  7. Any word on Smackdown tickets? Still nothing listed on ticketmaster.Regarding how much money to bring, I have a question of my own. Do most places take Visa? I haven't been to New York since 98, and didn't use my credit card very much back then, but do now. And about the brunch, which I won't be attending, this is the brunch that in the past has seen such events as Lex Luger attacking Bret Hart with his steel forearm, right?

  8. Assuming I get tickets to Smackdown, I'll be staying overnight in Boston between Tuesday and Wednesday. Does anyone have any hostels to recommend? Needs to be safe, central and not too expensive.I also have a RAW-related question. Looking at this map for Continental Airlines Arena (URL below), where will the Titantron be located? From what we see on tv, it looks to be section 2, but it might as well be section 8. Does anyone know for sure?http://www.meadowlands.com/arena/seating/l...a_wrestling.gif

  9. Just a note for those of you shitting yourself over these new rules for travellers to the US: they don't come into force until late October this year.

Thanks for that info. I just got a brand new passport and wouldn't have been happy if I'd have to get yet another one.Have most of you guys decided on what to do for the saturday afternoon yet? I was leaning towards the fanslam thing, but then when I saw the price info, that drove me away a little. It's still an option though. The Piper convention I haven't found any info on, anyone else?
  10. I agree with guts. I have a question also, those of you that have ordered tickets for the ROH show, have you received those yet? I haven't, and normally wouldn't worry, but considering RFVideo's reputation, I do. I've e-mailed them, but haven't gotten any reply.

  11. I just checked greyhound.comA New York-Boston roundtrip is 40$ (if you pay 7 days in advance) and will take about four and a half hour each way, which I don't think is that bad. Since I'm going home on Wednesday anyway, I might cancel my room in NY between Tuesday and Wednesday and catch some sleep on the bus trip between Boston and New York instead and save some money.Any idea what time the Smackdown tapings are over?

  12. My seat is excellent ... for ice hockey. Now it's just pretty good (SECTION 90). Not that I'm complaining.

Shame our seats are to good to have a photo, oh well.

Someone who was selling tickets on Ebay a while back had a photo from SECTION 8 or something like that up. It wasn't there anymore though.
