Yeah, it's because he's a pathological liar who grossly overinflated the value of his holdings (for example, he valued the name 'Trump' at $3.3bn, not the brand, not licensing and marketing rights, just the name itself) so it seemed he was far wealthier than he actually is. If he was anywhere near as wealthy as he claims he is, he wouldn't have had to go to Russian banks to loan money because American and European banks told him to do one.
