  1. This is a MUST listen for any fan of british wrestling! You may have heard of a guy named 'Gareth Angel' - he was one of the main targets of Iceman's 'Strawb Watch' campaign a few months ago. This total div now runs a wrestling promotion that he calls bradford wrestling alliance using such classicly trained guys as Brett Bell and the other uk strawbs, untrained and without a care for the damage he is causing to UK wrestling, he has even conned his way onto a radio show to 'promote' crap schools and crap shows in his area!! Shocking but worth a listen if only to see how deluded these people actually are!

I'm amazed that this idiot is still knocking around, the resiliance of some people never ceases to amaze me! The part where he refers to himself as a professional wrestler is just beyond belief. Anyone who has ever seen this piece of crap at an event will understand how pathetic this is. I hope his show gets shut down.

  2. LAW for roundup of news and listen to Meltzer answer every question posed to him with a 'I DOOOON'T knowwww, maaaaaaaybe?'

Review a Wai, Raw and Impact to listen to the guys dryly rip stuff apart, especially a random PPV from 2003. It's interesting to hear about their lives at the Fight Network or something that's been bothering them in their personal lives, like cinema security or their childhoods as wrestling. There's a lot I used to do or things I used to think before I smartened up, which they mention they did too. What sets them apart from any two arseholes ripping shit apart is that they have a professional credential which makes it tolerable. John's puns are brilliant, or at least when you can see them trying to formulate something clever and it's 1am, and they have work in 6 hours.

AOW with Cabana to get to know someone I never really bothered about, like Cliff Compton or Pat Buck. It's a really great way to find out about what makes someone tick, in an hour. Occasionally Punk will be on too for a bit. Plus, over time you can see how Colt has gone from someone desperate to get into WWE, to someone whose not that bothered about the big two, and just truckin' along. Surprised someone at WWE hasn't suggested doing a podcast, as it's an excellent way to get to know a guy when they don't have much TV time.

MLW radio to hear Konnan tell a story from 1996 where Luger is pissed about not being in a rap video, or Sin Cara pull a gun on Del Rio. You'll get some insight from Court about being a promoter, TV networks and wrestling/MMA or a story from his days on creative where Vince did something batshit insane. Also, to get a roundup of news about drug cartels in Mexico or Konnan completely kill a joke cos he's "gone to Iran".

Much appreciated for this, I shall certainly check it out!

  3. I am always looking for Wrestling podcasts or radio shows to listen to, both British and International.

I sometimes find myself listening to radio podcasts or shows just because they are going to be absolutely terrible or have someone on who is so beyond help that it is just funny to hear their opinions and hear them justify themselves and what they do!!

I know of Inside The Ropes is certainly one of the best ones and you can find them on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/theinsidenetwork?fref=ts

There is also The Indy Corner that always produce great shows that are worth a listen at https://www.facebook.com/TheIndyCorner?fref=ts

Does anyone know of any others that are worth a listen on a weekly basis?

  4. Listen Bud your work starts the minute you pull up in your car until the time you leave in your car its not just about 15-20 minute ring time, just a little tip from an old pro. Too many nowadays want to do there match go to the bar break character, mix with fans, watch the rest of the show it kills job imo but i am old school so maybe i have to modern up.

No not at all, I completely agree with you, there is not enough kayfabe kept up at shows these days anywhere in the country

  5. So basically then - the rules are that no one is allowed to have an individual opinion of a certain match or action without needing to then tell everyone their full name and address so that everyone who doesn't share that opinion can berate them or mock them for it?

Look - simple fact is - I saw ONE match that I believe to have been over the top, having experience the entire thing from start to finish on the day, hearing that apparently one of project ego had caused the hooligans to have a reason to have an issue with him and them decide to take matters further given an opening and a chance to get their own back - that may or may not be true, I formed my opinion on what I saw and what I heard - if it was a work by all 4 of them then fair play - they got me hook, line and sinker but I don't believe it was - simple as tha really! No real need for anyone to start on with the moaning and complaining whilst throwing insults around, you are all entitled to your own opinions about the Knights, about me and about anything else to do with wrestling in this country!

No probs mate sorry all four worked you mate, we go back with the guys years, there was and is no dispute between the lads guaranteed, go to the rematch down the line see what happens.

Completely fair enough, I have been in/or watched thousands and thousands of matches in the UK in my time, never have I thought stuff was being done deliberately out of context before this match, there is some incredible shit on the UK scene and the Hooligans are clearly not that which is what lead me to believe (as well as also seeing/hearing the aftermath of the match direct from the horses mouths so to speak) that there was actual friction there. If it turns out I have been worked like a trooper then I will be the first to issue an apology

Believe me you have, thats not a pop at you just a fact buddy. As i say we are fighting illusionists, its like a good magician the better the trick the more real it seems.

Then I have no problem admitting when I am wrong, i'm not gonna sit here are complain about something if I have mis-understood the original aspect of it - I was told differently on the day and clearly heard one of the hooligans expressing a desire to settle a score where in my opinion there was no need to be 'working' anyone but if that is what he did then great - worked me and the rest of the guys stood around brilliantly - the Knights are a talented family and that was never in dispute - seems I underestimated how good they actually must be!

  6. No, you twat. It's MY opinion that you're just making shit up.

So basically you know nothing about it and thought you would throw your oar in the mix? Your opinion is something you are obviously entitled to, even if you have no basis or actual first hand knowledge to base that on!

  8. Counterpoint (although that needs a jump of logic, in that you had to have made a point first): You made shit up. You wanted to stir up some bullshit, and when people started calling you on it, you subtly introduced the fact that you have wrestling experience. Therefore, people want to know who you are, to have this level of knowledge. There is no suggestion or reason that anyone need reveal their ID - we know who Ricky Knight is, we know the identities of his sons, and Project Ego, and the rest of us are all commenting on a situation, without specific knowledge (except for Bernard Rage).

You were there were you? Saw the match?

  10. who I am and what my matches are like bears no relevance to what I saw on that day or my opinion of it

Ahh, so you ARE a wrestler, then?

Right, so, a 30 or 31 year old wrestler from Kent. Britwres fans, start doing some detective work.

Lmao - so my opinion matters that much that you want to 'out' me as someone who didn't enjoy 1 match in particular and thought it was too stiff? Do you REALLY have nothing better to do? As already touched on, I have no issue with the Knights in any way, I think that in one action they were out of order and would quite happily stand by my opinion of that.

  11. The level of mentality of your standard UKFF user, doesn't seem you or anyone else on here can accept someone's opinion without attempting to get personal with someone else....I made 1 point....I was there, I saw what happened and I heard the conversations that followed the match, from that I have drawn my own OPINION about a one time thing, who I am and what my matches are like bears no relevance to what I saw on that day or my opinion of it. If no one is allowed to express there opinion on here without then being berated for having that opinion then it is a sad world

Oh fuck off, you total and utter woman. Change your jamrag and stop crying.

Lmao....'crying' - good god, you kids these days!

  12. Lmao....entertaining as it is, I know that I personally do not like being in the ring with anyone who may not put my safety at the top of their priority list for that 10-15 minute period. Stiff is one thing, and believe me I have been in there with stiff and got the bruises to show it, that's all fine - the way I saw it was that in this one particular match they were over the top due to something else, I have been on other shows where Zebra has worked singles and seen him act in a 'stiff' but professional manner, this was a one time occurance that was over the top which was the point I was making

You big girl. Tell us who you are so we can tell you that your matches suck.

    i await your reply.

Await my reply of what? 'What injuries were received?' - grow up mate, you don't have to cause someone a serious injury to be constrewn as 'dangerous' - and as for 'I've just spoken to the lads in question' - you clearly haven't so there isn't much point in talking to someone who wants to involve themself in a conversation that had nothing to do with them - purely based on my OPINION and nothing else and then wants to make false claims about it, there is obviously a reason you spend so much time sat on UKFF voicing pathetic 'funnies' about peoples opinions

  14. It's not ballet, folks. You get in the ring with Zebra, you know you're going to have a rougher night than you might encounter with less traditionally trained wrestlers. Get over it. He's one of the best in the country for a reason and learning to deal with it is part of what it takes to get as good as he is. Sure, not everyone will be as stiff as he can be but that's the glorious and infinite variety of professional wrestling. And honestly, is there anything more entertaining than watching Zebra smash the crap out of someone?

  15. "Moral Code of Their Own" is certainly right!!! I witnessed the 2 sons "Zak Zodiac" & "Zebra Kid" doing their 'Uk Holligans' gimmick at IPW:UK a month or so ago as they took on Project Ego....the gimmick at first seemed fun as they came out and got the crowd going but as the match went on you could clearly see they were taking liberties with the safety of Project Ego and not caring if they injured them, in some cases making it very obvious that they did not particularly care for Project Ego....they are a liability in that environment and there is no place for that inside the ring!

Sorry but how could you tell they were taking liberties? Wrestling is meant to look legit, sounds like they were doing their job well if they made a mark out of you.

The fact that I know Project Ego pretty well and spoke to them after the match, as well as hearing about what took place in the back following the match confirmed my thoughts, it is not difficult to see when someone is being heavy handed and deliberately taking liberties with someone and I personally resent being labelled a 'mark' for pointing this fact out

After the same match the teams agreed to do it again in a WAW ring, dont sound like a team thats been battered. I am sure Kirby and other fellah are quite capable of looking after themselves, i have been on with Kirby and he is no shrinking voilet mate. I have been on with my boys more than anybody in all sorts of matches and they are safe as houses, Roy has been wrestling 18 years, hands up who has had any broken bones going on with him. Roy has had his nose broke twice, Hand broken, Ankle twice and a three inch scar on his shoulder do to others inexperience or stupidity but its wrestling and its part of the job we take it on the chin.

Calm down, this is not a day out for you.

I am very calm sir, just putting forward a defence to an allegation, should the accuser calm down or is that bit of advice just for me.

Lmao.....perfectly calm here, I have been in the ring with Project Ego myself, never had the pleasure of working the hooligans but from what I saw and heard there was a huge underlying reason in that match as to why they were deliberately heavy handed, didn't expect my opinion or comment to spark a massive debate, merely stating what I saw first hand (having seen thousands and thousands of matches) to be severely over the top and borderline dangerous. At the end of the day good luck to them, if that is their style and the way they work and people are happy to be in there with them then my opinion is obviously wrong but either way my opinion is still something I am entitled to.

    Channel 4, wednesday 18 July, 10pm

The Knights are dad 'Rowdy Ricky Knight', mum Julia 'Sweet Saraya', brothers 'Zak Zodiac' and Roy 'The Zebra Kid', and little sister 'Britani Knight'. They claim to be the biggest wrestling bloodline in the world.

With a moral code of their own, this family pack a real punch, often at each other. They 'live, eat and breathe wrestling' while running the 'World Association of Wrestling' from their council house in suburban Norfolk.

With tough personal histories fuelling their drive, wrestling has always kept them together, although it is now threatening to tear them apart.

As one of America's biggest wrestling federations searches Britain for talent, the kids are selected for try-outs. This could make their careers in America, but take them away from home and their tight-knit family life for ever.

The Knights might get what they always wanted, but will success make or break them?
