  1. You can see everything on Discovery+ if you head to Olympics, then look for the 'On Now' section.  It has all the streams of every session of every sport as far as I can tell.  No magazine shows, no studios, no adverts or any of that nonsense

There are a few issues though - some sports you can pick a whole session e.g. Swimming it goes from the first race to the last race of each session, but other sports like tennis, badminton, table tennis are just a particular match at a time.  That might not be too much of an issue, but I've found it annoying when trying to watch the rugby sevens and 3x3 basketball as after each relatively short contest, you're then having to go and find and sometimes wait for the next one to begin.

Much better than watching on the BBC or Eurosport though.

  2. Yeah, plays like any other WWE disc of that generation.  Silver vision logo / info, followed by WWE Don't Try This At Home promo and then Menu with PPV and extras.  Nothing overly special about it apart from the disc itself.

  3. Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but I've just come across something strange in my DVD collection.

On opening one of the cases, I realised that the disc has no photo printed on it and actually has the words 'Check Disc', a logo for Disctronics and mentions Clear Vision Ltd rather than Silvervision.  Any idea what this is?

Big crash for Castro Nevis in practice for the Indy 500. He did another 11 laps after this!

That's crazy-scary how that flipped up as soon as he rotated backwards.  Hope they check the new bodywork packages carefully after this.  Really hope we don't see any more of that during this month.

Formula E - went to the Long Beach GP while on holiday in California.  It was an amazing experience.  It was free entry, paddock passes were really cheap too and you were able to get up close with literally all the drivers.  Mahindra (Senna and Chandhok's team) actually let us in to their garage for a quick look around.  The race probably wasn't as good as some of the ones earlier in the season, but we had a really fantastic time.

I know that you have to buy tickets for the two London races, but if you do get the paddock access as well, it will be well worth it.

  5. I've signed up to the Network this morning, have it running through my PS4 using Unblock US.

Thinking of getting a separate box just to run the Network through, so that we can still use Iplayer and the UK based apps.

Has anyone got any recommendations?  Was looking at Apple TV, but has anyone else had any experience of using it from the UK?

  6. Heads up on the current VIVA Bellator TV schedule:

Fight Master is being shown Mondays to Thursdays for the next few of weeks at 11pm. Episode 1-4 this week, episodes 5-8 the following week, then the final 2 episodes the Monday and Tuesday after.

The next Bellator event, which I think is the 7th September Bellator 98 card, is being shown...on Friday 20th September. That's right, a good ol' fashioned 12 day delay.

  7. If any F1 team principal were to be shown those two videos and asked which series he would like his next driver to come from, the answer would sadly be: who will bring the most money/sponsorship. And therefore, GP2.

GP2 should be an excellent feeder series, but the last few years have been awful. No one has really made an impact there since Lewis Hamilton. It's basically turning into old-school F3000, with the most experienced driver winning the championship rather than the most talented. Mainly because talent is not the deciding factor, it's the money and sponsorship.

Look at Pastor Maldanado. GP2 champion in 2010 after 4 years, but is only in F1 because he brings the Venezuelan money with him. The only teams that would employ him are those that need the money, so if he left Williams he'd probably end up at Caterham or Marussia, or potentially Force India. The fact that he drove into a marshall at Monaco under red flag conditions mean diddly-squat. Apart from the fact that every driver gets to see the video of it at the stewards briefing before the GP weekend.

  8. James Jakes was in there as well to make it 5. Biggest British presence for a few years. No idea why Mike Conway wasn't there, he was at some of the races earlier in the season.

Poor Conway doesn't do oval races anymore. I believe he said that it's a psychological thing after his massive crashes at Indy last year and a few years before that.
