  1. Dude, Labour are trying to fix what the Tories wrecked- it had too get worse before they can make it better. If we vote the Conservatives back in then we're going to end up back where we started- a broken country. And how will we fix it? We'll vote Labour, and in 10 years this thread will reapper with the same views on Labour and the Tories.

Oh please, that excuse is as old as the hills. Labour have now been in power for SEVEN years. The excuse of blaming the previous government wore off a long time ago. It's just indicative of the attitude that this Government has spawned, the "not my department/not my problem/blame someone else/nothing we can do, sorry" attitude that this country seems to be overwhelmed by at the moment. Well I'm sorry, but the buck stops with the Government, and it's about time the Government took responsibility for the running of this country, which, after all, was what it was elected to do way back in 1997.And John Amos, you've hit the nail on the head there.
  2. Which leaves us with the Conservative Party. So if there was an election tomorrow, the only realistic alternative to Labour are the Tories in my opinion.

Bloody hell Ducky. As much as I disagree with a great deal of Labour's policies, I'd take a long look at the Conservative party's history and their current policies before you ever consider voting for them ahead of Labour.
History shows that Labour are simply not a governmental party. Until Blair won his second term, post-war Labour had never been in power for more than one term, and going by the mess that Labour have made of this country would tell me that it was only the lack of a viable alternative that won them the last election. I don't agree with all of the Conservatives' policies, but in looking for a political party to support, you must see whose policies match your's most closely. A political party is, after all, a coalition of interests.
  3. Thanks for that BB, contrary to the opinion of a few, I will always try to answer a question that's put to me. I think that asylum, immigration and race will be one of the most important issues of the next 20-30 years myself. Unless something is done soon, I believe that this country will reach breaking point, after all, there's only so much rubbish you can put in a black sack before it splits wide open.As the problems increase, more extreme views, such as the BNP, will become more popular, as people who are fed up with the traditional parties and their failure to deal with the situation turn to more radical alternatives. The rise of the PC brigade and their banning of Xmas decorations etc will only serve to anger people and trivialise the race and multiculturalism issue. I do believe that the problem will worsen, and that we will likely witness severe race riots. For example, if British Muslims find themselves in a situation where they have to choose between their God and their country, then Allah will win, not The Queen.Like it or not, Great Britain, like many other countries, is a multicultural community which should embrace all its cultures equally. As I've said before, we should celebrate Christmas, and we should also celebrate Diwali, Passover, Eids etc. Let people learn about the other cultures around us, to increase their knowledge and prevent the ignorance that racism is born out of.As the best selling record of the year says:But if you only got love for your own ways Then you only leave space to discriminate To discriminate only generates hate And when you hate, then you're bound to get irate Madness is what you demonstrate And that's exactly how anger works and operates

  4. I wouldn't say that I hate every party that comes about. I despise the BNP and I think that this Labour Government has made the biggest hash of running the country than even their worst critics could have imagined.I have a lot of time for some of the more pragmatic policies of the Lib Dems, but I feel that a lot of these policies are born out of the realisation that they'll never be in a position of governmental power.Which leaves us with the Conservative Party. So if there was an election tomorrow, the only realistic alternative to Labour are the Tories in my opinion.

  5. From BBC News online:

A 26-year-old former asylum seeker has been jailed for 10 years for smuggling kidnapped women into Britain to work as prostitutes. Albanian Luan Plakici used a false British passport to find the "poor, naive and gullible" in Eastern Europe. The 26-year-old was head of a gang of traffickers who made more than

  6. I have no problem with the BNP's existence and their candidates running for election. This is a free country, and they are participating the open democracy that we embrace in the UK.I think they have gained in popularity recently, which they undoubtedly have, because people are sick of the asylum seekers issue, and, as Nazi Germany proved, desperate times present desperate measures. However, a blanket ban on immigrants is not the answer. What needs to be done is to weed out those who are genuinely in need of help, and whose lives are at risk if they return home. Yet a large proportion of asylum seekers are bogus, claiming benefits and then running businesses involving other asylum seekers on the side, making thousands of pounds a week. Various TV exposes have demonstrated this. These people are parasites who need to be removed from the UK. However, it needs to be said that scientists and geneaologists have concluded that, if the population of the UK was reduced to just pure-blooded Anglo-Saxons, then the number of people living here would be approximately one.

  7. I don't particularly thing that "Kiwi" is a racist term, New Zealanders often refer to themselves as The Kiwi's in sporting events. Its the nickname of their Rugby League side and in the past has been printed on the shirts, I have never seen a Pakistani sporting team have the word "Paki" on any of their shirts.

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't, but I've just got this mental image of the Pakistani cricket team with that on their backs, and I can't stop laughing.I'm sorry again, I know it's wrong, but it's popped into my head and won't leave without a fight.
  8. How many "Muslim", as you call them, countries have you visited? Most of these countries are, in fact, a wide mix of religions. While predominantly Muslim, countries like Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon etc contains a sizeable population of Christians (and various offshoots such as Druze) and Jews as well, all of whom live together in relative peace, unless America or Israel stick their oar in.The Western women who emigrate out there and take up the veil, in general, choose to do so, as a sign of respect to the culture of that community. Believe it or not, there is nothing in the Koran which states that women must be veiled, it is all a matter of choice within that particular community.

  9. In the same way that other tributes are taking other wrestler's names and/or personas

So im sure you will all look forward to seeing the Uk Brock Lesnar, UK Paul Heyman and UK Mikey Whipwreck at the next FWA show (like we dont know who we're talking about) at least we've cleared that one up once and for all.
I think that's a little unfair. We know you're referring to tiresome old comparisons of Burchill, The Twisted Genius and Jack Xavier, but I don't think you can really compare them to the American guys you mentioned.Burchill's a monster heel, like Lesnar. But there were monster heels before Burchill and Lesnar, and there'll be monster heels after they're retired. It's just part and parcel of wrestling. Burchill's moves and Lesnar's moves are worlds apart too.Dean Ayass and Paul Heyman: they're both heel managers. But there were heel managers before Burchill and Lesnar, and there'll be heel managers after they're retired. Everything in wrestling is just a reinvention of an old gimmick anyway, it's all been done before. Before Raven, the strange loner, there was Jake the Snake. Before Jamie Noble, the redneck hick, there was Hillbilly Jim, and before him Uncle Elmer and so on.Mikey Whipwreck and Jack Xavier: they both wear funky shirts, just like thousands of people out and about in the UK and US on a night out. Wow, sue them.
  10. Islam also recognises Jesus, albeit as a prophet, and as you mention, the Bible refers to him as the King of the Jews I believe. And Jerusalem is a holy city of Jews, Christians and Arabs.Religion, huh?

  11. Speaking as a Muslim, I find it ridiculous that Muslim parents are complaining about nativity plays. We're living in a country that is traditionally Christian, but has a sizeable Muslim, Sikh, Hindu and Jewish community as well. I believe that we should celebrate Christmas, as well as Easter, Eids, Passover, Diwali and everything else. There's no harm in a good bit of celebrating! It would educate people to other cultures and religions, which would be especially useful in schools. Racism is often born out of ignorance. Eliminate ignorance and there is more chance of reducing racism. I agree that the world has gone PC mad.
