  1. Not sure if it counts seeing as the match took place on their "home turf" of sorts, but I remember the crowd in Montreal going absolutely ballistic for La Resistance beating Benoit and Edge for the Tag Titles on Raw.

  2. Fantastic thread this. Like everybody else on here I was a massive fan of Silver Vision and must have bought loads over the years.

Just a question regarding editing then, I might be talking complete bollocks but was there a problem with something on The Ultimate Ric Flair collection involving a plastic bag that had to be removed? Again, I could be talking complete nonsense but I'm sure I remember reading this somewhere.

  3. I know it's been mentioned to death on here already but Stephanie and Triple H were brilliant during the opening segment. Stephanie dancing and singing to Cena's music has to rank as one of the greatest things

I've seen in ages. She really has been excellent during this Authority run.

Gutted to hear that Barrett is going to be out of action for so long. Hopefully they'll have him pop up every so often, just like he was doing before he made his in-ring return the night after Wrestle Mania, just to keep

the gimmick going and keep him in people's consciousness.

I was genuinely excited to see The Miz back for all of about thirty seconds but then my enthusiasm just evaporated when he started talking. As hit and miss as Jericho can be I'm always delighted to see him back.

He and Wyatt feuding is at least something new and should provide some good matches.

The really had no choice but to turn Paige heel. The rematch between them was always going to happen and there's no way AJ's getting booed. Especially with all those annoying fucks still chanting for CM Punk every week.

Bo Dallas continues to be great, although I really hope the whole "Boner" chant doesn't become a regular occurrence, it's brutally cringeworthy.

Absolutely loved the confrontation between Swagger and Rusev. I know the Americans are always great for a bit of patriotism but it was great to see how quickly the crowd got behind Swagger. I reckon they could have some good

brawls together. Zeb and Lana going at it on the mic should be right laugh too. What are the chances of Swagger and Zeb showing Obama's picture before their matches?

Although there were some bits that dragged (Dust Brothers Vs Rybaxel again and the Fandango/Layla/summer Rae isuue which is beyond uninteresting) this was a really good Raw, especially coming after the

    fairly disappointing MITB.

  4. Loved Daniel Bryan Vs The Corporation again this week. It's great having smug prick Triple H back. Granted it was plain as day that Bryan was going to vandalise Orton's car the minute they brought it out but it was inoffensive and didn't slow down the feud in any way so it worked in that regard. Bryan and Rollins had a cracking match too. The German suplex spot from the top and Rollins' bump into the announce desk were particular highlights.

Paul Heyman was excellent in the angle witrh Punk. I know there's been some discussion on here about Bobby Heenan being the greatest manager of all time and it's not something I'll argue against as I haven't seen enough of his work to make that call. For me though, Heyaman with the possible exception of Vince himself, is the greatest non-wrestling performer ever. Heyman looking emotionally battered and as if he'd been crying whilst talking to the always terrific to see Renee Young was a lovely touch. The only downside to this whole thing is that Curtis Axel is still as bland as fuck.

AJ's "pipebomb" was brilliant too, mostly because it was all true. They keep having to find different things for Jo Jo to do, none of which she's been particularly good at. it reminds me of the time they had all those Diva Search losers running around as make up artists and backstage interviewers just to justify their positions. Naomi and Cameron are alright I suppose. Natalya hasn't done anything of note in years even if she was alright during Khali's brief run as an detective. The Bella's are THE absolute worst though. As AJ was delivering her promo they kept shouting "Say it to our faces" as if AJ wasn't standing mere feet away from them, proving they have absolutely no idea how to react to anything. Eva Marie appears to be turning into another Bella which is far from a good thing.

I thought Rosa Mendes had been binned after getting drunk as a lord during a European tour but there she was on Monday night, now aligned with The Miz for some apparent reason. The commentary during the tag bout was the pits too with all three of them trying to shoehorn in as many references to the previous nights VMA's regardless as to weather they were relevant or not.

Almost forgot, I'm glad Pitcos mentioned it as I too was thinking that Big Show had an iron clad contract.Mabye they'll bring it up next week.

  5. Everything about the Daniel Bryan storyline on Monday night I thought was fantastic and really well done. Stephanie gave what may be her best performance ever in the opener, with the B+ line being a great touch. Bryan valiantly fighting The Shield while Triple H taunted him in the close was brilliantly done. The McMahon-Helmsley Faction Version 2013 came across as a right bunch of pricks.

I thought they did a great job with The Shield too. Hopefully they stick around as the henchmen for Triple H and co. They did a great job in the Handicap match with Dolph too, he looked great fighting all three of them and even looked like he might win before Roman Reigns delivered that excellent spear.

Although it was an extended ad, I thought Fandango was terrific in the Foot Locker bit.

Punk's a right asshole isn't he? I'm all for wrestlers getting a reaction from fans but Punk just came across as a right whiny cunt.

Hopefully they're done with Sin Cara now. Considering Cena worked the match at SummerSlam in the condition he was in and then Cara calls the match off for something that small. They should have left Del Rio give him a proper kicking.

I'm liking the face Prime Time Players and hopefully the tag team scene gets a proper run now. They've got some really good teams what with the Real Americans, The Uso's and The Shield amongst others. Speaking of great teams, the impending arrival of Los Matadores, has me all excited. I groaned when I first read about the gimmick but sod it, Primo and Epico have done nothing of note for about a year or so now so why not.

  6. I thought Alex Riley was really good on commentary this week. Saying he was an improvement on Brad Maddox really isn't much in the way of praise. I'd happily have Riley alongside Cole and JBL as a three man team on Smack Down. As much as I like JBL and I do, he really hasn't had the same fire on commentary since he returned.

Tyler Breeze is another great little gimmick that NXT has. I wouldn't mind seeing his matches go a bit longer tho. The "Tyler Breeze has just left/entered the building" is a great touch.

Emma is one of the best things going on NXT and super over with the crowd too.

The best thing about NXT may very well be Bo Dallas. He's got his character down to an absolute tee. The stroking of Renee Young's head this week was brilliant.

Despite all his time down there Mason Ryan is still quite shit. I don't even think he looks particularly threatening, perhaps it's the hair.

Finally, The Wyatt Family's goodbye last week was a great little moment.

  7. Just watched the episode that aired before Raw this past week so I have no idea if I'm an episode behind or what.

Paige VS Emma was a cracking little women's match. And as has been said earlier the whole win felt like a big deal especially with Triple H coming out at the end as well as all the other Divas. Emma is brilliant too. It's almost impossible not to like her. She's well over with the crowd too and while I'm well aware there's a big difference to being over in that small area as opposed to a major building it's an encouraging sign for the lass. I'm getting behind the Emmalution anyways.

The Tyler Breeze gimmick looks like it could be really entertaining.

Sheamus VS Luke Harper was a really good big man match too and Harper looked pretty good in the ring. I know the show had the benefit of a pre-tape and he was in there with Sheamus but maybe there's hope for the bloke.

I know he wasn't on this weeks show but I really like Corey Graves. I can see where people are coming from with the whole "C.M. Punk light" criticism but I like his look and he's pretty solid in the ring.

Bo Dallas' grating acting like a face but he's really a heel is terrific. Reminds me in part of Randy Orton's similar smiley do-gooder run on Raw when he first turned up there.

I like Brad Maddox but he's bloody awful on commentary. Regal is great and has really settled into his groove but I just can't get into this Tony Dawson bloke at all.

  8. I used to really like him both in the ring and on the mic as a wrestler when I used to watch him in the likes of 3PW and when he showed up on heat and feuded with Chavo as Kerwin White, 38 now though so chance of doing anything decent as a wrestler might have passed him by.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that thought he was good. Admittedly he could be a right know it all knob on commentary when he wanted to be but when he was reined in I thought he did a good job. I really enjoyed his pairing with Todd Grisham on Smack Down. He was pretty decent as Big Daddy V's manager too. Saying that I can see why people thought he was a proper tosser tho, his "I'm marking out" line is still cringeworthy stuff of the highest order, but I always thought he came across as a decent bloke. Still, no big loss at the end of the day. Anybody reckon TNA will take him on?
  9. Thanks for the recommendations  have found a few more films to add to my list. The problem with the Hepburn films is much like Lauren Bacall iv'e always found her face/voice very off putting. I'll get through it though! Thanks again.

No problem.I happen to like Katherine Hepburn but I know exactly what you mean.Sometimes it feels as if she's doing an over the top impersonation of herself.Cate Blanchett playing her in The Aviator is a prime example of this.Whilst Blanchett nails the mannerisms and voice it fells at times like she's doing a bit for a sketch show about Hepburn at times.

  10. Probably the obvious answer to your question but his work with Katherine Hepburn is great.

Adam's Rib is probably the best of the lot.State of the Union,Pat and Mike and Keeper of the Flame are all really good aswell in my opinion.

I know you've already mentioned it but Judgment at Nuremberg is a great film.Terrific cast aswell what with Richard Widmark,Burt Lancaster,Marlene Dietrich and even Judy Garland popping up in it.O and William Shatner's in it too.

Maximilian Schell who played the defense lawyer was fantastic in it.

  11. After looking at that FCA set that's coming out, it got me wondering:

How many Chicago Street Fights have there been collectively in WWE, WCW, ECW and TNA? I can count three (Uncensored '96, WM13 and Extreme Rules), is there any other notable ones?

Crap quality and i'm not even sure if it properly counts but I remember them refering to it as a Chicago Street Fight at the time so.

    L.O.D. 2000 Vs D.O.A.

  12. Wasn't really blown away by NXT this week.(The episode shown before this weeks Raw.Not sure if it's new new or just new over here)

Mahal Vs Bateman was the best match on the show.I really like Bateman but i'm not sure if he'd fit in on either Raw or Smack Down.NXT seems to suit him down to the ground, mabye i'm wrong.

Can't say "Showtime"Percy watson does much for me,tho on the other hand Heath Slater is a joy to watch in the ring.

The main event lacked any real oomph for me.It's probably because I could care less about either Khali or Jackson.McIntyre deserves to be back on Smack Down IMO.Really got into him during his run on SD when he debuted.

Alicia Fox Vs Maxine felt like it was one botch away from completely falling apart.Fox must be one of the most uncordinated human beings i've ever seen in my life.Anytime I watch her wrestle I can't help but picture Bambi trying to walk for the first time.

Regal and Matthews are great on commentary.Even Regal's jokes that fell flat on their arse were entertaining in a so bad they were funny way, especially the circus gag.His line about he and Jackson being the reason for ECW's demise was terrific as was he karaoke joke.

  13. Just wanted to add to the love for House Of Wax.

By far one of the better teen slasher films of recent memory out there. As was stated above most of the reviews at the time seemed to concentrate on how much of their hatred for Paris Hilton they could get into the review. There are some really great moments in this film, the melting house in particular looks fantastic. The scene in the cinema is the highlight tho for the playing of that fantastically creepy scene from the superb What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?. I thought Chad Michael Murray made for a likeable lead aswell.I'm surprised he's not popped up in more of this or similar fare.

  14. ,as is Brosnans "I though Christmas only comes once a year" quip in The World Is Not Enough.saucy indeed.

My personal most hated thing in any film ever.Firstly, Denise Richards plays some kind of super genuis scientist which is fucking stupid enough. She even wears glasses because I guess all scientists have poor eye sight. Then she is called Christmas Jones, which is a name that no one would ever call their daughter, just for the sole reason they can use the really fucking shit "Christmas comes once a year" joke which anyone with a brain could see a mile away the minute Denise fucking big tits bimbo Richards introduces herself as super nuclear scientist "Doctor Christmas Jones".I know Bond movies are supposed to be tongue in cheeck but the whole thing is so fucking contrived, crappy, idiotic and unimaginative. It's not even remotely clever, and when people in the cinema laughed at it I wanted to set them all on fucking fire.
Not a Denise Richards fan then? ;) I'd agree that she was pretty naff in the film, even she was a looker.I enjoyed the line, childish as it was.Connery was indeed the king of the one liners tho upon refelection "shocking","she had her kicks" etc. On a side note, this months Empire magazine has a great look back at the history of Bond along with a look at Skyfall.I think it's safe to assume that it's going to be better than Quantam, not that that's saying much really is it.
  15. Just to throw my two cents in,even if they will warrant a bollocking. My favourite Bond films are Licence To Kill (I'm usually a right knob and call it Licence Revoked as it was the original name and sounds much better) and Live and Let Die.On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a close runner for me,I don't care what anybody says. Some terrific action scenes,Diana Rigg acting her(proverbial) bollocks off and a terrific ending that's yet to be matched. And a belting theme tune by Louis Armstrong.Almost forgot about For Your Eyes Only. After losing the plot with Moonraker, they went back to basics and a grounded, badass Bond. And again, cracking theme song.Timothy Dalton is my favourite Bond although i'm aware he's not the best. That nod goes to Moore.Granted he had a couple of duff enteries(Moonraker and Octopussy) but I reckon he did enough during his run to justify the claim.Brosnan was pretty good as Bond although he got saddled with two duff films in his run which pretty much did him in.How about best one liners:Q's call of "I think he's attempting re-entry" in Moonraker is quality,as is Brosnans "I though Christmas only comes once a year" quip in The World Is Not Enough.saucy indeed.Either those or Dalton's "Farewell to arms" pun in Licence To Kill.Britt Ekland was stunning in TMWTGG.Jane Seymour was top in LALD but again i'm throwing Diana Rigg as my number one.Best theme belongs to The Living Daylights.I'm probably wrong on all of the above but,sod it that's my take on Bond.

  16. Just out of curiousity, why was the WWE Original Release of NWO Back In Black deleted? It's a WWE released dvd..

It fell into the same boat as Insurrextion 2002 and Divas:Tropical Pleasure.Although it had the WWE logo on the artwork, the contents inside featured the WWF scratch logo as well as references to WWF so it was binned. It was re-released as part of the Tagged Classics range tho along with A Video Tribute to Big Daddy Cool Diesel and Oozing Machismo Razor Ramon

  17. I was thinking about that Road Dogg win, and I couldn't think of any others for Mania. But I did then remember HBK & Diesel doing over the Headshrinkers the night before Summerslam 94, which made a right cunt of the card when the opener had absolutely shit all on the line and the champs otherwise engaged in the IC match. That took me to Edge/Jarrett from whenever that was in 99, but obviously that was just for a little hotshot deal and had no lingering effect. Can anybody think of any more of these, especially ones that really buggered stuff up, like the Summerslam one?

IIRC Triple H Vs The Rock at In Your House:Fully Loaded '98 was to have been a best 2 out of 3 falls match for both the Intercontinental and European titles only for Triple H to lose the European title to D'Lo Brown on Raw Is War the week of the PPV.D'Lo Vs X-Pac at the event then became a European title match.

  18. Fantastic seeing American Beauty in the countdown, even happier seeing as I placed it at Number 1

This was the first film I remember seeing where pretty much all of the main performances blew me away.Spacey and Bening are fantastic and the rapport between the pair is so believable.Mena Suvari was excellent in her role and her character goes through a brilliant journey aswell.

Everything about this movie I love from the music to the cinematography.

And who could forget that image of Suvari barely covered in roses.
