  1. I imagine that's the most excited a man's looked meeting Big Brother contestants.

It was the signed Steve Watson shirt I was excited about...lesson learnt though...never enter a charity auction when hammered, with mates who think its funny to drive bids up. Pricks.

    Victory...

  2. I helped TV Chef John Burton-Race find a post office last week. Saw him wandering around all confused so walked him there as I had to go and get some stamps myself. Seemed a nice enough bloke.

I once scared the living shite out of that Mario and Lisa from Big Brother at a chariddy do after I had a few too many of the 2for1 Mojitos.

    Evidence....

  3. Can anyone recommend a good home brewing kit? Going to get one started next week. How long does it take etc?

I started off with a Cooper's kit and it's pretty sound. The one thing you want to really focus on when first starting to brew is temperature and ingredients. A lot of "easy" kits have you brewing too high a temp and a lot of adjunct ingredients like dextrose or even, shudder, table sugar. This just leads to a really shit tasting beer that will make you give up on the whole thing.

Good ale brewing temps are in the 60-65F area for most ale yeasts and you want a brewing kit that is all malt ideally. A lot of people really stress about cleaning, but to be honest, you'd be amazed what you can get away with in my experience.

So do I need an electric hook up for one of these things then? I'll be honest, I know absolutely nowt about doing it, which is why this thread could be a godsend. Where is best to position it etc, I have a large outhouse/shed but I imagine it will get a bit nippy in there over the autumn winter. Are there any good beginners guides that you can recommend? I need the very basics as it is something I will put time and effort into, just don't know where to start really. Oh and The Ship and Mitre in Liverpool, fantastic ales in that establishment.

  4. A mate of mine had the Weston's Cider man tattooed on him!

Anyone here done much brewing? I'm thinking of getting into it, doing my first batch for christmas (So my Secret Santa recipient will get some). Any beginner tips? What should I make? What's easiest for a starter?

Moving into a new house next weekend with a big outhouse and my first thought was, perfect for a home brew set up this... I would also welcome any advice on how to go about it. I haven't the foggiest.

  5. I think what all of the above opinions proves is that FSM needs to be 168 pages every month. :)

Correct, If you want my money. Make it worth my while :) You don't need sleep Brian.

Anyone who follows FSM on Facebook and Twitter, or gets emails from me, knows this is already the case! ;)

I would really be interested in finding out your geographic demo for your readership. I think it would be an interesting to see in terms of whether your coverage of events matches up with where your stronger readership is. I doubt it would be possible to check or even whether you would be willing to post it publically. But say for instance, you have 10,000 people who buy or subscribe in the North West, and 20,000 in Wales. Then maybe subscribers and customers in Wales would prefer more coverage of Welsh firms like Ravenhill or Britannia or All Star.

I understand FSM has to cover the Americans because that's what gets people to buy the mag, but then you have a responsibility to try and drive people to British firms to stimulate gates. I don't really see the value in reviewing live shows or DVD's for PWG or ROH (How many people who read the magazine are going to travel to Reseda or Dayton), when that space can be better spent providing a show report from Rhyl Town Hall which could encourage locals to go and see the next Sheamus or Wade Barrett on an All Star show in their local area.

  6. Thanks for your thoughts.

What would you personally like to see us cover? We've looked at cardiovascular and strength conditioning for pro wrestling before, but it may be long enough ago that it would be interesting again.

Well I would love to see you cover a diverse range of topics to be fair. How about Orig Williams overseas tours to Pakistan as a historical article? How about a week on the road with an All Star camp team (All Star don't get nearly enough coverage in your magazine considering they are the zenith of wrestling in this country)? Both of them could provide good fun.

In terms of the conditioning article. "Train like Ligero/T-Bone/Magnus/Alpha Female" or something similar, highlighting his/her diet, what stretching he/she does, little tricks picked up and advice on what kind of cardio prepares you best for life in the ring. Like a muscle and fitness spread with pictures of the stretches etc. I think it will appeal to a broad range of people. As I mentioned regarding the football magazine, I looked at some of the exercises and thought "bugger that". But I picked up a great steamed salmon recipe... I think it will give a great insight into the life of a independent wrester in the UK and people can then copy the exercises at home etc...For a pro wrestling and MMA mag, it would be nice for you to have that consistently for the fat arse 14yr old fan who buys the magazine, they may start copying what they see, get in shape and boost their self esteem, and it starts with copying one of their favourite wrestlers.

  7. I was in two minds about this anyway, but this months issue, and Magnus's article especially, has made me make the decision not to renew my subscription this year. The content Is just getting to the point where I can finish all I am interested in in about 25 minutes each month.

Have to say I agree with this. I used to buy the magazine consistently from my local Smiths and from about 18 months ago, it is very rare I pick up a copy. I used to be able to take it home and dip in and out of it over a course of a few days (better than reading the back of a shampoo bottle) an then pass it on to the missus to read. She is a huge TNA fan, and even with your coverage of TNA, she is no longer interested in reading as she says it is very samey. I do enjoy the Jim Cornette article as he always seems to be passionate about the topic he is discussing. But I can read through the interesting parts whilst still in the shop waiting for the missus to be done in Boots.

When making my choice, I tend now to always pick up a copy of FourFourTwo instead as for an extra pound, it is jam packed with insightful, diverse and entertaining content. It even has a nutrition and development section for aspiring footballers which is incredible...On the other hand, the advice for aspiring wrestlers in FSM comes from a small article by Alex Shane, where he shamelessly self promotes and offers very little actionable advice. Nothing really about what cardio to be doing, what is a good lifting program, what videos to study... I think you are missing a trick there. Maybe his advice is more in depth if you join his online school or go and live with him and scrub his bog for a year.

  8. What an odd looking person. His videos aren't that bad really. I haven't subbed but i can see myself checking out his channel more often just to see what kinda subjects he comes up with. The only person i've ever really spent time watching on youtube and checking for new videos every 'from him' and 'about him' is vonhelton and vonhelton's life never fails to amuse me. That's what youtube is about, it's about people and their life. A real insight into the person and what they go through everyday and their failings and triumphs.

No, those wideos are awful. But hugely entertaining.

  9. Heres the proper link to the video btw seeing as Hulky couldnt even get that right

I love the fact that the only comments on that video are from the man himself....Lovely stuff.

Did you ever see his forum? He would post a rant, then lock the thread so no one could reply. I fucking love Hulky, me.

Never seen it, and from the sounds of it my life is worthless without it. Who is he?

  10. What happen brother was that I made this site as big as it got and then the owner banned me and for what? All I asked for was a simple sorry and the little bitch never once let me back. My war started in 2001 and 10 years on Moo can not get over the fact I made the site a success

Music overlay.....Can't hear a word he is saying. I am praying for a star wipe on the next one. He seems to be perfecting his skills on Windows Movie Maker.

  11. I think that is terrible Mr Facebook, must have a really hard time for you. Good to see that you have shown great "bouncebackability" and returned.

Although i must point out.... There are currently thousands of lads in Afghanistan fighting a war (you know, with guns and stuff) so maybe you may want to refrain from referring to this situation as a "war"... that being said, I find this pretty entertaining.

You sir are a truly eloquent scholar, gentleman, blogger, strawb, and from the looks of it, you also have a quite comfortable bathroom within which to record your video blogs.... One question though, why are you recording them in a toilet?

Shut the hell up. Without me there would be no ukff

Moo is a piece of shit

I would never dispute that Mr Facebook, i wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. I am fairly new here so could you enlighten me on how you "made" this forum? I think if you make salient points on how you facilitated the growth. Surely, no one could argue with you then and brush aside your vast contributions.

I just want to understand. Mr Facebook please, help me understand.
