WWE Star Jack Swagger ARRESTED For Crazy Driving

 

WWE star Jack Swagger was arrested last night in Mississippi, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly committing several traffic offenses.

 

Source close to the situation tell TMZ, Swagger was leaving a "Smackdown" taping at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi when he was pulled over.

 

It's unclear what traffic offenses Swagger is accused of committing ... but they were serious enough to result in an arrest.

 

We're told Swagger -- a former WWE World Heavyweight champ -- was taken in by local sheriff's deputies ... and later released on his own recognizance.

 

We reached out to WWE, who tells TMZ, "Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions."

They've updated the original story, apparently he was in possession of pot at the time of arrest.

Two questions remain:

1) What happens now for wrestlemania? I remember a few years back it was just a $1000 dollar fine for weed showing up on a drug test, but I can't imagine WWE being too lenient here.

2) Exactly how fucking stupid is Jack Swagger? Wrestlemania 29 championship match, more air time than at any point in his career, a fantastic and intriguing storyline after being little more than midcard for the past five years and THIS is what he gets busted for?! Tit.

There's a story on Punk's DVD that revolves around himself and Miz on the road, nothing of any real interest, but I wondered at the time if something had gone on between the two to turn things sour. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out Punk thinks every friend or family member of his is a cunt.

It's been A LONG time in the making ... but former WWE heavyweight champion Batista has FINALLY booked his first real deal MMA fight ... TMZ has learned.

 

Batista has been training to get in the ring for years ... and got REALLY close to fighting in the Strikeforce league back in 2010 -- but the deal fell apart.

 

But now it's on for real -- the 43-year-old powerhouse signed with the CES MMA league -- and is all set up to fight on October 6 at the Duncan Doughnuts Theater in Providence, Rhode Island.

 

We're told Batista -- 6'6" and 290 lbs -- will square up against some dude named Rashid Evans ... not to be confused with UFC hurt-maker Rashad Evans.

 

Sources connected to the deal tell us ... the fight WILL be televised ... but it's unclear which provider will broadcast the fight.

Guessing Big Dave is just doing this as a hobby now, surely there's no way he could make it to UFC?

Did the WWF/E use a bigger ring back in the 80's compared to today? Watching the Macho Man DVD (Savage vs Steamboat at Boston Garden) and noticed that the ring looked a lot bigger, although it may just be the elevated camera angle?
