For those saying Britani Knight doesn't deserve it, well I beg to differ. And i'm not doing that for personal gain, i've never worked with any of the Knights and don't know them on a personal basis. I've never been a fan of female wrestling and i've never hidden this, but last year a venue bought a show off me and the one thing they wanted was a womens match, and as I knew nothing about womens wrestling in this country, I took to youtube and to asking peoples opinion. And both in viewing youtube and getting peoples opinions, only three women really stood out, and that was Lisa Fury, Sweet Saraya and Britani Knight. People may disagree with me, but that was my opinion and the opinion of a lot of respected guys within the business. So at least WWE have actually hired somebody with talent, and at her age, a huge amount of potential.

And as for her wanting a plane with her name on, who doesn't? I know I do! And if I had a potential career with the WWE, that's exactly what i'd be thinking too. She's young and excited, let her enjoy it.

Also, a mate of mine who loves wrestling along with her two sons, text me this last night "Check out channel 4 its about a family of wrestlers promoting their business lol their daughter got signed on the spot with WWE and had a contract within a week, she's a pretty awesome wrestler, cant wait to see her in WWE lol" So I know there's certainly some casual fans looking forward to seeing Britani in the ring.

I thought that was an excellent documentary. I don't think it harmed British wrestling in the slightest, it came across as a good old fashioned underdog story. I for one will be rooting for Britani, as well as for her brothers to get signed. And the airport scene brought the father out in me, as a dad myself I could only imagine the emotions the family was going through.

I was at the match was exciting all over the hall brawl. The Knights wrestled like Hooligans. The Bastards. Props to Roy for his Bushwhacker stomp.

 

Would Orig Williams have carried on the kayfabe promoting the resentment between the two teams for the rematch. Or would he have gone on a fan forum and told the fans they are all good mates on facebook.

 

Point taken but there was no internet to speak of then so who knows but probably not but he would defend his lads if their ability was questioned that i know as he was a very loyal man to his workers.

And i'm pretty sure there's no 6 year old marks on these forums.

Also, times change. And i'm pretty certain that if the internet and fan forums were around when guys like Orig first started out, then they'd use them.

I have a Masked Mexican on my show who is a fan favourite. So as not to spoil the illusion, during the backstage pass session, the referee will tend to stand by him an act as a 'translator' so as not to seem ignorant to the kids by not speaking to them.

I know Orig was your mentor and a great man too. When we first walked into his company as the superflys, we had the same haircuts same clothes same trainees, Orig buzzed his first words were, thats how a tag team should look we got many bookings and the best advice from the great man.

I can imagine. I often wonder how Orig would react to some of the things that go on these days.

Listen Bud your work starts the minute you pull up in your car until the time you leave in your car its not just about 15-20 minute ring time, just a little tip from an old pro. Too many nowadays want to do there match go to the bar break character, mix with fans, watch the rest of the show it kills job imo but i am old school so maybe i have to modern up.

Amen to that! I hate all this "Hi, i'm a wrestler, come say hello to me and fuel my ego" type bullshit that goes on. Same for all these wrestlers who ask people to "Film my match so I can put it on youtube to prove i'm a wrestler" types. It really angers me, maybe it shouldn't, but it does! I remember Orig Williams telling me once that even though we know its a work, and the general population knows its a work...the little six year old nagging his parents for a ticket, he thinks its real! So don't show him he's wrong.

Back on topic, i'm looking forward to watching this, I've never met the Knights but they've always intrigued me. Old school is cool!

Good to see both JD Knight and Danny Garnell make the list. These two guys deserve recognition. Both highly talented guys with bags more potential. And JD, in my opinion, has the best physique in British wrestling.
