Rail strike is off.

My only prediction is that getting home is likely to be a real pain in the backside...

Does anyone remember a song from around 1997 where the video for it featured a woman wrestler with black hair doing all kinds of moves to someone who I presume was the lead singer for the band? I’m pretty sure the wrestler and band were British but I can’t remember the name of the band or the song. The band or song might have the name Molly or Holly in their title. It’s not a lot to go on, I know, but memories are vague after so long, and it’s been bugging me for forever.
Â
I believe you're thinking of the song Molly by the band Carrie, which was released in 1998:

Apologies for exhuming an old thread, but is anyone else listening to Serial (http://serialpodcast.org/)? For those unaware it's a weekly episodic podcast exploring the investigation into a murder of a high school girl in Baltimore in 1999. It basically breaks down the witness testimonies, detective investigations, interviews etc, and is trying to establish whether the guy who got convicted did it or not. I'm probably not doing it justice, but it's an absolutely fascinating listen.

Would Lucha Underground be the first wrestling show that uses seasons to actually get a second one? WSX and RKK both died after the first, and that Jeff Katz one died without broadcast.
Â
You can add Wrestlicious to that list too. About the only one I can think of that actually came back for a second season is Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors.

Never met you Catfish I don't think. I usually pop over to say hello to Benny and co in between takes.
Â
We've met a couple of times I think, but I tend to blend into the background a bit. I believe we spoke briefly about your 'fingerpoke of doom Nitro' podcast a couple of shows ago...
-
I'll be there too with Benny, Gadge, Windoesnot et al as usual. As for imports that are in the country and haven't already been mentioned yet, I believe RJ Brewer worked for Premier tonight, although I'm not sure how many people would actually know who he is.

Didn't UKFF favourites Mike Carlson and Mark Webster cover a bit of WCW in the summer of 2000?
Â
They commentated on Transatlantic Wrestling Challenge which was shown in some ITV regions on a Saturday afternoon in 2000ish, not sure if they did WCW though.

There's an article on wwe.com about Ring of Honor at the moment, where they acknowledge ROH's influence on some of the current top guys.

Courtesy of Bryan Alvarez this video of the Rockers/Brain Busters from 1989 has a dead ringer for Daniel Bryan in it at around the 6:10 mark

I thought this was awesome!

I'm a big fan of the Big FInish audios, so hearing Charley, Lucie, C'rizz etc mentioned was quite the moment!)

I guess they decided against signing the other Hairy Biker...

Could anyone provide me with a list of the full talent and staff WWF took over when purchasing WCW. I've seen a few kicking about online but they don't seem accurate. For example, some had Stevie Ray and Disco etc and I'm doubtful if either were involved in the move. I even read about Double J being part of it but for obvious reasons Vince wasn't into that.
Â
The wrestlers were as follows:
Â
Mike Awesome
Hugh Morrus
Lance Storm
Chavo Guerrero
Shawn Stasiak
Johnny the Bull
Shane Helms
Shannon Moore
Evan Karagias
Chuck Palumbo
Sean O'Haire
Mike Sanders
Mark Jindrak
Elix Skipper
Kwee Wee
Lash Leroux
The Wall
Kaz Hayashi
Jamie Noble
Jimmy Yang
Stacy Keibler
Reno
Kid Romeo
Jason Jett
Â
I don't have full list of non wrestling talent but you can also add referees Nick Patrick and Charles Robinson, plus the short lived WCW match commentary team of Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson.
Â
EDIT: That list is from the original questions thread in Gold, thinking about it some more, I'm fairly sure there may have been some others early on too, such as Booker T, Buff Bagwell and Torrie Wilson.

Former British wrestler Max Voltage has been nominated for the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award (previously known as the Perrier Award) at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival: see here, he's one half of Max and Ivan.

He didn't win...

After a few more days to reflect on the show and my thoughts and looking through some of the pictures I took on the night, I have to say that I do actually think the venue worked as a fill in pretty well but really can't wait to get back to the old one.
Â
I don't think they're going back to the old venue. On Friday the ring announcer said the next show would also be at Rumes, and on the Saturday Big Benny HG and I were handed a flyer for the new look Lava Ignite (now called Evoke) and from the photos it appears to have screwed down tables and chairs where the ring used to go.

BritWres'ers - does Dirk Feelgood still come out to the Baywatch theme? Boring fact: I heard this for the first time when he did his entrance, and turned to UKFFer Catfish Jake and told him "this theme is GREAT!". He was stunned that I'd never seen Baywatch.
Â
I believe he retired and moved to New Zealand, so unless he uses the theme when he walks into theatre or something, I fear not.

I've tried watching a few episodes of Its Always Sunny and I don't get it. Danny de Vito aside, it feels like low grade Seinfeld if every character was played by acting powerhouse Jerry Seinfeld.
Â
Justified I also found quite dull. They don't really follow through on the premise of a wild west style law enforcer out of time and place. I wanted Timothy Olyphant to be badass ala Bullock/Deadwood but instead his character seems mostly quite nice and reasonable.
Iv'e heard it described as Seinfeld on Steroids and I though that was pretty apt. I feel their great at portraying their characters. Dennis is fantastic, easily the most mental character and is somewhat underrated.
Â
I think Charlie is the most mental character, I'd say Dennis was the most manipulative and Mac is the least obnoxious (although that's not saying much!).

The fact that nobody has mentioned Regal's insertion of Depeche Mode songs into his commentary during the Tamina/Maxine match dissapoints me. What a wonderful wonderful man Regal is.
NEWM's the only person that watches it, and he might not know Depeche Mode songs.
Â
Nah, he's a big fan of theirs, in fact he just can't get enough...

Why did I get some ant virus thing to check I'm human before I could view the site? Is that new?
Â
Nah, humans have been around for ages...
-
Which came first, Tyler Reks' music or Darren Young's music? the compositions are largely the same...
Â
There's only one way to find out, fight! Except that would be a horrible match, so don't do that.

Can you get Wresting Observer for the Kindle? Just got one for Christmas and I'm sure I've heard it mentioned on here, but all I can find are a few 2010 issues of F4W.
Â
Any other Kindle wrestling books / newsletters anyone can recommend? I've got all the mainstream WWE books, I notice a Randy Savage bio on there, anyone know if that's any good?
Â
If you subscribe to F4W/the Observer, you can download each issue as a PDF, which you can view on your Kindle.

This is a good one: ANUS laptops

Think TNA's official site have that. Maybe the ROH will too.
Â
Another quick one, as going to watch this later, without spoiling anything what was the main event on Turning Point last night? As in last match
