  1. I was lucky enough to win 2 tickets for tomorrow`s "An evening with Ric Flair" show at Leicester City`s football ground, unfortunately my mate whom was having my spare has just pulled out as he can`t get out of work. If anyone is interested in meeting me at the venue they are more than welcome to have it for free, it didn`t cost me anything & I never win anything so it would be a shame to see it go to waste.

From what I can see on their facebook page, the show starts at the ridiculously earlier time of 6pm (!), which doesn`t give me much time to get from B`ham, so I would need to meet anyone just before it starts. PM if you interested, I`ll be going anyway so I`ll check the forum as the day goes on.

  2. A fair proportion of yanks think that all of Europe is Marxist, and basically a satellite state of Russia.

Very true. At the Raw after Mania 29 I was sat with a couple of American lads whom I'd been having a few beers with, Gangnam Style by PSY came on before the show & they said "Get that commie bastard off, they want to bomb us", I said "he's from South Korea, they are on your side, your thinking of the wrong country", they replied "Well, he's Korean, what's the difference". I rest my case. Apart from that they were sound lads.

  3. What on earth is going on with Davey Richards hair, looks like he found the tin of bleach Samoa Joe used in the early 2000s, the sort of bleached blonde colour that looks like it's been mixed with a particularly runny bout of diarrhoea.

Willow's promos are a combination of hilarious & downright shit. He sounds like the type of voice you did when you were a kid and put a sheet over you pretending to be a ghost.

EY - good wrestler, I've actually found some of his comedy stuff mildly amusing but world champ, oh dear, oh dear. Having gone to every TNA UK tour so far (glutton for punishment) I'm seriously considering not wasting my money on next year's. Most TNA UK house shows or TV tapings are a good laugh, even Jokers Wild 2 in B'ham this year, which had a shit attendance, was a blast, but I worry just how much worse this is going to get.

That temporary Impact Zone or whatever they call it makes them look beyond 2nd rate. WCW Worldwide at MGM looked better, even with all the tourists in their baggy 90s T-shirts & Bermuda shorts. I can't believe they are in such a bad place. I used to really like TNA, then I spent a long time trying to like TNA, but it's just embarrassing now. Rant over.

If a fan, albeit one who looks like he knows what he's doing, can do a tribute as classy as this I imagine WWE will have something equally as good or better tomorrow night. What a great video.

  5. I'm in shock. Literally just got off plane from New Orleans. Word just spread through everyone as we were picking up our luggage. For a split second I didn't believe it as there has been so many rumours in the past. Everyone saying the same, can't believe we saw him only on Monday. One lad got a photo with him at the airport, that must be one of the last times he was seen.

My thoughts go out to his 2 little girls & his wife, the way he spoke about them on stage you could see he thought the world of them, as any proud father should.

    RIP Warrior.

  6. Two tickets for Final Battle just arrived today. As I did Mania in New York without my mrs earlier this year, she has been saying she wants to go & when she suggested December I thought I could get a sneaky trip to the Hammerstein in. To my surprise (shes not a wrestling fan but knows a fair bit) she said she would go as well, this will be her 1st ever live wrestling show. She holds her own at football matches so she is fully prepared for the drunken Hammerstein atmosphere. I thought I would have a look on this thread & see if anyone looking forward to the show but it would appear there isn't much interest in ROH these days. Apart from the fact New York will be freezing I'm looking forward to it, went to both Supercard of Honor & the TV tapings in April and if it's anywhere near as good as those shows I will be happy.

  7. Still no replay up on the site, I realise it`s still early morning in the States but you would have thought it would have been the first thing they would do. Crazy they are doing announcements via facebook as clearly there will be people posting spoilers on the page next to ROH`s announcements.

  8. ROH look like amateurs with this set up.EDIT : Just Ordered EVOLVE ippv, sat up till now (1.42am) with a crate of beer to drink, no work in morning, wide awake and after trying ROH website for 100th time I thought I might as well go for it. I shall be chasing ROH for a full refund asap. Total joke.

  9. This is fucking bollocks. Show started 5 min ago and I`ve not seen shit apart from a screen saying `this service is not available`.Come on ROH sort this out.EDIT : 20 mins in now and still can`t log on. Is anyone else watching it/logged on or having same problem?

  10. Just ordered. Must admit I have been going back and forth on which ippv to order, this or EVOLVE. Richards v Steen and Strong v Finlay pushed me to this though. I feel the EVOLVE card looks better overall (Generico v Callihan, may see if its available on demand tomorrow), it was the same over Mania weekend, I went to DGUSA on the friday night which was a great show overall but managed to squeeze in getting to Fort Lauderdale for Showdown in the Sun 2 on Saturday afternoon which was very so so till the main matches and that stunning Richards Elgin match. Now the ippv is on their own website there should hopefully be no problems. It was a real pain in the arse when showdown in sun kept stopping, in the arena we had no idea the show kept stopping due to the ippv feed, they didn`t announce it, the wrestlers just stood around looking at each other and the whole of the first half of the show was disrupted.I agree with what a lot of people say in that I couldn`t believe the lack of depth the roster had after the main guys but this Richards v Steen match has got to be the biggest match ROH have had up their sleeve for years. Crate of beer in fridge, can`t wait........

  11. Below is part of a post I did on the 'who's going to Wrestlemania 28' thread with a comparison of DGUSA after.

First half of the show was terrible, second half was fantastic. First half had hardly any wrestling, loads of stopping and awkward silences, some ROH fans are a nightmare too, they made the atmosphere at this point worst by being so difficult, but to be fair I was totally shattered (which didnt help) as didnt get back fom DGUSA till late last night then I was up at 6 to go to axxess this morning. 2nd half was brilliant, atmosphere changed with plenty of chants, Briscoes v Benjamin/Haas very good, Steen v Edwards very hard hitting, Lethal v Strong was good but the main event was outstanding : Richards v Elgin. Move after move, near falls, a real proper ROH main event where they go balls out and go the extra mile. Looks like some reviews are naming it as a match of the year contender. Only problem I have is the total lack of selling i.e. Elgin receives a German or dragon duplex and gets straight back up, Elgin has kick after kick to the head and then Hulks up, Richards is power bombed in to the corner buckles and walks away with no effect, I know it's typical for ROH but it border on ridiculous, still an amazing effort by both men that kept me buzzing in taxi drive back through the monsoon like conditions.

Overall DGUSA was a better show with consistently better matches but ROH had that main event. I must admit I'm well out of touch with ROH so unlike DGUSA I wasn't aware who some of the first half wrestlers were so i couldnt get as involved with the matches. It worries me who they have to replace the main event crew. When Aires went first time and Joe left you had the likes of Danielson and Nigel, when those two were on top it was clear that Strong and Richards were being groomed for the top years ago. Ok, Steen and Generico are there but then lower down I couldn't see anyone else. Maybe it's because I'm well out of touch with it which I fully admit. DGUSA seemed to flow better as a show, Gabe seemed to be every where that night getting things through, maybe that's still the difference. I'm not saying every match has to go all out from the start which DGUSA did which is very much an ROH trait from Gabe's days whereas ROH did have a build in match and length and quality to the main, just a shame the first half was so crap and disorganised.
