  1. Aiden, it was a botch. The move was meant to end in a powerbomb. One of Ibushi's problems/draw backs is his tendency to invent moves that are ridiculously dangerous. Usually he has the common sense not to use them in the ring. Luckily I think they've realised just how dangerous this idea is and they're going to stop using it.

  2. Poor Billy Gunn in his shirt and tie.

On a side note have I missed the episode of NXT on Sky Sports that Big Kev appeared on a few weeks back? I'm not sure how far behind the episodes are.

It airs next week. There were 2 recap shows over the Christmas period so it hasn't aired yet.

  3. PAC made his NXT TV debut on the taping this week:

Pac pinned Sakamoto with a 360 Shooting Star Press.

Also, some other items of note happened at the tapings. :

The Shield appeared on the show. This led to Rollins vs. Big E Langston for the NXT Title on one of the taped shows.

Kevin Nash was guest commissioner for 1 of the taped shows.

  4. AJPW vs. NOAH Feud?

Mutoh vs. Kobashi for instance would still be a big draw I think.

I'm not sure, as it may be a silly question, but are AJPW still doing allright? I don't that much of them these days. A while ago, I would of said Go Shiozaki would be a great pick up for any company, is he still any good?

All Japan are doing okay but money is tight. I doubt they would be able to afford Kobashi full time. They definitely couldn't afford to pay him while he was on the shelf.

Kobashi's last return made next to no difference in attendance. Personally Kobashi should either retire or return to All Japan for a short tour before retiring against someone like Shiozaki or Suwama.

It's unknown if All Japan can afford to pay Akiyama & Shiozaki full time.

Aoki & Suzuki could go to a few places: New Japan would benefit from a new Jr, but their HEavyweight roster is too stacked to bring in Akiyama or Shiozaki without dropping people to make room.

Shiozaki is not bad but he is very much in the NOAH style, which might need some tweaking.

  5. It probably deserves a thread but I'll put it here for now.

Tokyo Sports & F4WOnline are reporting that Pro Wrestling NOAH have fired Kenta Kobashi.

Kobashi, who is out with what is his fourth big injury since 2005 (including his time fighting Kidney cancer), is NOAH's highest paid talent. This would have been a purely financial decision, as NOAH havecut a lot of older talent since Misawa passed away.

The impact of this decision is that 5-6 wrestlers are supposedly set to leave NOAH when their contracts expire in January (NOAH have yearly rolling contracts). The names being touted include Jun Akiyama, Go Shiozaki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Kotaro Suzuki.

  6. Cheers to Sixteen Degrees for the list.Really looking forward to this now, it's like a whole new promotion to follow, but with the WWE seal of you know this won't be ENTIRELY horrible however bad it might get.The only downside is I fear it may now take away ANY excitement about new wrestlers debuting on Raw/Smackdown.

Thanks Statto. If you look at the list you may notice that one FCW name is significant by it's absence. To me that suggests/confirms that they will be brought up to Smackdown/Raw in the near future. So there will hopefully be excitement there.
  7. Anyone kind enough to post a spoiler-free list of people involved in the taping for me? Can't seem to find one without risking spoilers. (You can obviously spoiler-tag the list to protect the real hardcores)Cheers in advance.

  8. I'll be in Orlando when Final Resolution is on.

    Here's my question...

Should I go? I don't watch TNA so don't really know what the match quality is like. Also, is it easy enough to get tickets there?

It may have changed but when I went back in 2008 you waited near the studio that they film TNA in, as they don't sell tickets to my knowledge. First they let in regulars and friends etc, then they let in as many as there is room for. So being near the front is usually key.

Then again, this was years ago and that was for an Impact taping, and not a PPV, so I can't say if this is accurate to how easy it is to get into a TNA PPV. I can't comment on match quality as I too don't watch TNA.

  9. Can't recommend the latest mag enough. Really strong articles this month.

I've read Ditch's online Puropulse articles for a few years, and the Kobashi article in FSM was a very good piece. I like the variety of the articles in FSM, and how it does cover other aspects of wrestlingwith it's articles while of course covering TNA, WWE, MMA etc.

  10. I liked him as CK Lite. :(

    you win, mansfield.... you win.

    Real names! He's shooting! :omg:

    :sly:

Who the hell is CK Lite? I have no memory of such a person... I think... ;-)

CK Lite is the son of "That 70's" Andy Shoes, who travelled forward in time so that they could work together as a tag team. It's a Triple X thing.

I believe that Gordon is referencing the fact that CK Lite was completely removed from the time stream, and thusly never existed, as a result of a low blow a few shows back. Hence the ;-) .

  11. He put in a great performance against Leroy (IPW:UK) with a match which had many in the crowd wondering if what they seeing was real (the punching of a 'fan')

    What? No.

I think having Shane, a guy who's wrestled about six matches in the voting period, this high, is fairly insane. How many votes did he get from his eight UKFF accounts?

I agree. I regret not voting as Shane was my first and only idea for a nominee on the shit list. His promo against Leroy Kincaide was not only amazingly racist but it earned real "we don't care, just shut the fuck up" heat. The match itself was fuill of overbooking like every big Alex Shane match I have seen. I was wondering if any members of the FWA associated schoold voted for him out of loyalty, tbh.

  12. It's a month off but Death Before Dishonor VIII looks packed so far:

ROH World Tag Team Title Match

The Kings of Wrestling with Shane Hagadorn defend vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe

Grudge Match Months in the Making

    Kevin Steen vs. El Generico
