  1. An enjoyable episode of Jericho's podcast with Robbie Brookside this week particularly for any longtime fans of British wrestling. Where else could you hear mentions of Terry Rudge, Scrubber Daly, Lucky Gordon & impressions of Brian Dixon in 2016!?

Some of the comments I've read about previous episodes had put me of giving Jericho's a try, but in this one he appeared to be pretty restrained and willing to give Robbie plenty of time to tell stories & not make it all about him.

  2. it's strange that you say that because everyone(myself included) who was working as ring sercurity or as runners or ref's etc for his first show said that if they were not doing a job and getting into the show for free they wouldn't have showed up because of the prices

Not that this forum's reaction should affect the shows attendance one bit, but I think if the highest ticket prices for the show had been capped at
  3. Comparing Styles to Sharkboy and Hart to Honky is tenuous to say the least. You might as well say any new promotion in the UK is ripping off All Star because they've used Yokozuna, American Dragon & Gangrel. Most promotions try and cover all bases in terms of International imports with differing results.

  4. Perhaps that valuable time will be used to update the MEW website and let people know that Vampiro isn't appearing two weeks after he told a small group of internet fans who, by and large, will not be attending the show.

  5. Alternatively, they may (mistakenly) view TWC as the holy grail, and they may see massive investment as the only way to get on the channel, and bankrupt themselves in the process.

To be honest it wouldn't take massive investment to better the FWA production values. Their previous video releases have been no better or worse than any US Indie and commentary is decidedly ropey. It all depends on whether the view the worth of a company by the amount of indoor fireworks they can buy.For me the only way to stand a chance of succeeding on the channel is to concentrate on the in-ring product. If you start going the route of low-budget WWE which a lot of FWA angles/promos do it looks amateurish, if you concentrate on booking and using the best in-ring talent in the UK, it could work.
  6. I dont think this is a bad thing for British Wrestling, one company on TV is better than none at all. I think the irony is that FWA are probably paying for the luxury of regular TV exposure when there are very few other companies in the UK that would want it anyway, and certainly a small amount that have the means to do it. If the channel is a success then other stations will want to cover wrestling which would leave the doors open for other feds to get on TV. If it is a failure then the only losers are FWA who are undoubtably going to have to improve greatly in terms of overall quality of wrestling through the card, organisation of events and production values to hold their own against ROH and CZW, let alone WWE. They're also going to have to put on a lot more events a year than they have in the past and you have to question whether this is likely when after a 5 month break they still can't get tickets on sale for a reasonable period prior to a show. In addition if the behind the scenes footage and interviews are of the quality of the Jack Xavier one currently on line, who sounds like he couldn't be less interested in whether 'Musclebound Shane' has booked him for New Frontiers or not, then people will be turning off in their droves. The irony is that more people are watching Premier's exposure on Johnny Vaughan's programme on Friday nights than will ever tune into TWC.

  7. And taking declining attendances at tribute shows and All Star but constant or increasing attendances at other promotions' shows as evidence that Britwres is dying?

So how do you explain the fact that the attendance at the last FWA Bethnal Green had dropped off so much from the one before (a good 200 less if not more) and they have a cancelled 3 shows in the recent past? The figures you give for other promotions attendance earlier in the thread would be considered poor if they related to an All Star show.If you dislike the majority of All Star shows then don't go, you've told us you wont be going to on a number of occasions and then completely contradicted yourself. As Dart said you seem to have some strange obseesion with Brian Dixon anway, which is slightly disturbing.
