jimufctna24
Add Fitzgerald to those currently suspended by the BBBofC. Quote British champion Scott Fitzgerald has had his licence to box suspended after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman. The 28-year-old was arrested on Monday in Preston and bailed until 21 May. The 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist confirmed his arrest on Instagram. The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) has moved to suspend Fitzgerald's licence pending further investigation into the incident. On Monday, the BBBofC suspended the licence of world champion Billy Joe Saunders for releasing a video appearing to advise men how to hit their female partners. Saunders apologised for the video later claiming it had been a joke taken out of context. Fitzgerald currently holds the British light-middleweight title and was being moved towards a world title shot following impressive wins over Britons Anthony Fowler and Ted Cheeseman. Lancashire Police confirmed a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in the Ryelands Crescent area on Monday, with enquiries ongoing. He'd just got out of rehab and moved down to London. However, it appears as though he returned to Preston on Monday night, which is when the incident with his ex-partner occurred. There are some grim pictures of his ex-partner on Twitter that show the damage the assault caused. It really is a sad state of affairs. WyattSheepMask
Whose your favourite ring announcer? Doing a bit for an upcoming podcast and was listening to to bits of both Jimmy lennon Jr and Michael Buffer's ring introductions, but who do you prefer? Or is it someone else entirely? I mean, the answers Jimmy Lennon Jr obviously Edited April 2, 2020 by WyattSheepMask
jimufctna24
Lennon Jr. Buffer does little for me. Neither does David Diamante. Edited April 2, 2020 by jimufctna24
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 3, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted April 3, 2020 Ive warmed to Diamante, might be because he comes off as such a great guy away from the ring. If you get chance listen to him when he guests on podcast, great stories.

jimufctna24
Interesting read for anyone with a spare 5 minutes. From February 2019: This article cropped up a few days ago. Quote PRO boxers and promoters rallied around drug baron Daniel Kinahan after a newly-released rap track claimed state agencies set him up to be killed in the Regency Hotel attack. The new song about the 2016 shooting, called Major Plans by artist J Spades, was released on YouTube on Thursday evening and frantically shared by big names in the sport. It bizarrely claims that police, the Government and the media had set up mob boss Daniel Kinahan in the attack. Kinahan was the target of attack at the boxing event but escaped with his life by fleeing out a back entrance. His close associate David Byrne was blasted to death while senior cartel figure Sean McGovern was injured in the attack. Patrick Hutch Jnr was charged with murder but the charges were later dropped by the State. 'EVERYTHING WAS SET UP' The tune includes lyrics saying the incident was “worth a movie that could have won an Oscar.” It also claims “everything was a set up,” and “20 minute calls to the police, no pick up.”It alleges: “Guess the Government wanted somebody dead, hoping the bullets hit somebody’s head.” The song also hits out at the media for “propaganda.” A number of fighters who are represented by MTK or figures in the sport associated with the boxing promotion outfit shared the video on social media. MTK — originally known as MGM — was founded by Kinahan with British-Irish ex-fighter Matthew Macklin, who Daniel claimed in 2015 was his “best friend”. 'TRUTH ABOUT REGENCY' But the firm insists there is no association with the Kinahan cartel since they broke ties with Daniel in 2017. Billy Joe Saunders, a good friend of mobster Daniel Kinahan, shared the new release with the hashtag #TruthAboutRegency. Saunders, currently banned from all boxing after posting a controversial video appearing to show men how to hit women this week, tweeted: “An attack on boxing is an attack on all of us. “4 years since a man was killed & 2 others seriously injured at a boxing event in front of children. “The police, government and media have a lot to answer for. “What REALLY happened here? #TruthAboutRegency.” Fighter Sunny Edwards, managed by MTK, said: “Stand against the injustice. Share everywhere.” Head of MTK’s charity outfit, MTK Global Foundation, Spencer Fearon tweeted: “4 years ago there was a vicious attack at a boxing weigh-in in Dublin. To date NOT ONE PERSON has been held accountable - why is this @gardainfo @FineGael. “This is an attack on boxing and therefore an attack on all of us #TruthAboutRegency.”It was also shared on Instagram by Tyson Fury and some others. 'KILLING WAS ORDERED' Kinahan remains in exile in Dubai, where he fled to after the 2016 Regency Hotel shooting. The incident is seen as the catalyst in the Kinahan and Hutch feud, but it began the year beforehand with the murder of Gary Hutch, who was once one of Daniel’s most trusted lieutenant, on the Costa del Sol. And in 2018 in the trial for that murder in Spain, police told the court the killing was ordered by Daniel. Hitman James Quinn was later found guilty of the murder and is serving 22 years behind bars. The Kinahan and Hutch feud saw 18 murders in total. Of those, the Kinahans have been responsible for 15. In 2018, the Criminal Assets Bureau here provided submissions to the High Court in Dublin as part of their successful case against Daniel’s close associate Liam Byrne. The file read: “The Kinahan group is an international gang involved in the importation and controlled distribution of drugs into this jurisdiction, the UK and mainland Europe.“It has bases in Spain, the UK, Netherlands and Dubai.” This guy has been tweeting out all sorts of stuff about Kinahan, MTK, BJS and others. Be warned, some of his tweets are impossible to understand - https://twitter.com/Cancer42198753/with_replies MTK served him with a penal notice last week. jimufctna24
Pacquiao came out with Big Dave Batista. Hatton came out with Kugan "Bent Legs" Cassius. It was never going to be contest, was it?
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted April 10, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 10, 2020 I stayed up and watched that live. I was really hoping for a FOTY contender and Pacquiao went out and just flattened him in two rounds. Right buzzkiller and a terrifying knockout in real time. The cameras going straight on Hatton’s distraught missus while he was still twitching on the canvas wasn’t nice either. Then the same happened with Pacquiao’s wife when Marquez sparked him a few years later.

The farce against Senchenko doesn't really count for me, as he was three years out of the ring and proper done by then.
