Are Kobashi's Orange Crush and Scotty Steiners - Steiner Screwdriver the same move?

No. Both start off like a vertical suplex, but an Orange Crush finishes like a powerbomb and a Steiner Screwdriver finishes like a tombstone piledriver. The DVDVR Big Book of Wrestling Moves is your friend (although it's seriously in need of an update).

What was that match on NOAH the other morning that was about 40 mins with cuts??? Had one guy in white trunks and another in black. They did a couple spots of the apron and turnbuckles to the outside. The guy in black does a mulitple chop fest???

Sounds very much like Kenta Kobashi (black & purple) vs Jun Akiyama (white) from the NOAH 10 July 2004 show at the Tokyo Dome. Many people had it as their 2004 MOTY.

RE: Desire videos.'Taker & Austin both definitely had official ones to the tune of "My Sacrifice". It's entirely possible they both got more than one. The plan was probably to use "My Sacrifice" for a whole bunch of videos (it lends itself very well to wrestling), but I guess the editor remembered he had more than one CD.I stumbled across the Mattitude one again the other day (unmarked VHS tapes~) and it's a brilliant idea, fitting in with his character perfectly. Overall, I think the Rock "Alive" one is my favourite, though. There's also a raft of unofficial "Desire" videos doing the rounds online (some using "My Sacrifice", some not). Some of them are very, very bad (Sting, Hogan). Some of them are very good (Michaels, Bret) and make you look twice to see that they're not the real deal. *EDITed to make a bit more sense.*

Interesting-I saw the Sting one and thought it was ok. Given that naive first impression, I must dig out the Michaels & Bret Hart ones on Limewire or edonkey! The Matt Hardy one is good, I personally also liked the Jeff Hardy one if only for the awesome shot of him and the Undertaker they used, but my favourite was the history one (until they NWO'ed it!). I remember getting to see it on the big screen at Insurrextion with the fans cheering loudly for each legendary star as they appeared.

Last night I watched a match I picked up from PW -Kenta Kobashi vs. Mitsuhara MisawaCan someone give me a pick of background on the match and is this the sort of thing to expect from NOAH?I loved the match by the way..Oh and something I've been wondering, are there any Best Wrestling Matches ever DVD's around - from traders and the like there must be right?

I'm assuming that this is their match from March 2003. In my opinion it was the best match anywhere in the world that year. The story going into it was that Kobashi was the GHC Champion (NOAH's top title) and was challenged by Misawa (who owns the promotion although this isn't acknowledged as part of his in-ring persona). It was emotional for the fans because Kobashi pinned Misawa for what I believe to be the first time in singles competition. Kobashi and Misawa both broke into the main event in All Japan at the same time and for virtually all the 1990's had ***** matches against each other, often over the Triple Crown (All Japan's top title). They had 'match of the year' quality matches against each other in virtually every year throughout the 1990's. Obviously, this was a huge deal for the NOAH fans to see Kobashi win. Some traders have 'The Best Of Misawa vs. Kobashi' collections on a couple of tapes if you want to check out more of their work. Is this what you can expect from NOAH? Well, not every show has a 'match of the year' calibre match on it but you can expect good quality wrestling throughout every NOAH card. The emphasis is definitely focused on the in-ring action and they have some great workers; their junior heavyweight tag division has been impressive the last few years with the emergence of Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA.Regarding 'best of' compilations, most traders have some kind of 'best of' tapes / DVDs. I'd say it's impossible to put 'best matches ever' onto even 10 tapes as their has been that much quality wrestling. However, it is not to hard to find compilations focusing on a particular year or promotion. It depends on what you like really.

What is the point of the move where they set someone up as if they are going to do a fame-asser type move and then proceed to flip 360 and land back in the same position ?

Originally (and done properly) it was a hiptoss counter, so the guy doing it ends up with his arm in the right place to hiptoss his now disorientated opponent.

WMX Ladder match. Shawn vs. Razor (just watched it; still awesome :D).Ramon goes for the hiptoss, but Michaels puts on the brakes. Thumb to the eye, knee in the gut, leg over head, flip. Michaels heaves for his own hiptoss, but "The Bad Guy" is having none of it & decks "The Boy Toy".
