Paid Members Jesse Posted February 4 Paid Members Share Posted February 4 All of BobbyBroccoli's videos are great. Jon Bois for people too dull to care about sports
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted February 5 Paid Members Share Posted February 5 Spent several hours Sunday painting this Owl candle holder whilst listening to American Psycho. Bit of a juxtaposition, but I still feel it dull, nonetheless.
Members SuperBacon
New London overground map/lines/names. Thought you fellow sad bastards would be interested. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2024/feb/15/london-overground-new-names-and-colours-for-six-lines-revealed
DavidB6937
Honestly I saw it mentioned on Twitter this morning and thought it was one of those stupid branding things like what they did for Burberry. Interesting to read and makes sense I suppose. Nice they've put some thought into it.
Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 15 Paid Members Share Posted February 15 I understand the logic of splitting the Overground up into groups; I've got used to the little stretch of it I routinely use, but it can be a bit confusing/daunting trying to make sense of it otherwise. I'm just not a fan of the names they've chosen, I'd rather something more blandly functional that gave me some indication of where the train was going. They sound like lyrics from an Idles song. LIBERTY LINE! LIONESS LINE! MILDMAY LINE! SUFFRAGETTE LINE! WEAVER LINE! WINDRUSH LINE! OVERGROUND! WE'VE BEEN GROUND OVER! Lioness Line at least goes through Wembley, so at least that's consistent. Can't wait for Geoff Marshalls video on it.
Loki
The names are geographically inspired but just a bit obscure. The Liberty line runs through the old Liberty of Havering, for example. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Liberty_of_Havering Edited February 15 by Loki
Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 15 Paid Members Share Posted February 15 I just love the idea that they named all the lines to make it less confusing for tourists and visitors, and then presumed that all of those tourists have an intrinsic knowledge of which areas of London were historical hotspots for the weaving industry. Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 15 Paid Members Share Posted February 15 I'd have thought the line through Canonbury would be the one call the Suffragette line, as Canonbury's the nearest station to Newington Green Unitarian Church, the birthplace of feminism as a political movement (was where Wollstonecraft hosted the first meeting based off ...Rights of Woman). Is it just a church or do they have stuff regarding the radical history of the place?

DavidB6937
This would've worked too.
Members SuperBacon
Wonderful dull effort. Favourite London bus route? Personally the 281 Hounslow to Tolworty route holds some lovely sentimentality for me, as does the 111, but a 285 from Kingston does the trick for me too. WyattSheepMask
I’ll only believe he’s done all the bus routes once he posts photographic evidence of that bus stop with the Hellraiser VHS on it
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted March 25 Paid Members Share Posted March 25 Geoff Marshall, the train guy, posted a video the other day where he done every bus route in London. Not as good as his train series, but enjoyable enough for the dull man.
