You might not be aware but before the arena was built the ice rink was the big venue in the area. All sorts have played there, from Metallica and AC/DC to Kylie Minogue and Wham. Was a bit too early for me to be going to gigs but can remember hearing them from my home down the road.

Briefcase 232
I went to Takeover in Texas as part of WrestleMania 32 weekend and thought the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Centre was odd.
bbabba 50
Smackdown ran a house show in 2005 in Dublin at the RDS Arena, which is the home ground of the Leinster rugby team. Apparently drew over 20,000 fans. I can't find any good pictures from the event, but there are a couple of poor quality videos on Youtube.

Such a different venue to everything else you saw on their shows. I still love that show. It's just so unique. Taker's entrance being particularly great. Â A Sumo tournament was held that same year too in the same building. 1991 was an odd year for that place. Edited March 30 by bAzTNM#

I've always regretted buying floor seats as the view is so bad(usually from those in front refusing to sit down, or jumping up every 2 minutes).

I dare say that AEW was starting to go down that road too, with an episode of Dynamite on Chris Jericho's cruise etc, before Covid struck. The Kevin Dunn formula of everything having to look perfect is so shit and anti-wrestling.
Paid Members Carbomb 5,879 Posted March 30 Paid Members Report Share Posted March 30 (edited) Didn't WWE do Shotgun Saturday Night from their nightclub in NYC? EDIT: Got two things conflated. Shotgun did broadcast from nightclub locations around NY, but their nightclub/restaurant "The World" never did it. Edited March 30 by Carbomb

Paid Members tiger_rick 12,024 Posted March 30 Paid Members Report Share Posted March 30 (edited) One of the first clips I downloaded via p2p software. Probably took 3 hours to download a grainy 30 second clip at the 4th attempt after the previous three were deliberately misleading bestiality porn. In my memory the stadium looked nothing like the one at the top and Wikipedia tells me that was built in 2006 so I may be right. I think at the time there was one grandstand and three sides of temporary bleachers, all packed in quite tightly so it had an outdoor arena feel but on a smaller scale. Definitely the most unique show I've been to, and the only outdoor one other than Wrestlemania. It certainly lives in the memory more than the countless identikit indoor arena shows.
