Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 29, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted October 29, 2020 yep, Andersons gonna end up fighting random jobber's in Russia isnt he?
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 29, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 29, 2020 Fuck sake. Like Iย said though, heโs still got another fight on his UFC contract after this. He signed a 10 fight deal after the Stephan Bonnar fight in 2012. This is fight number 9. So unlessย the UFC have come to some agreement to let him go and do his thing elsewhere after this fight, heโs going to have to haveย one more fight in the Octagon if heโs not retiring.ย
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 29, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted October 29, 2020 maybe theres been a situation where he agreed to a fight and it fell through? meaning its eliminated a fight from the contract? Regardless, he's definitely gonna fight on.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 29, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 29, 2020 Maybe. There was also that time heย steppedย in last minute against Cormier at UFC 200 and kind of savedย their bacon so that could be something he can use as leverage. Maybe. The UFC donโt usually do things like that but Dana does seem insistent that this is it for Anderson one way or another. I give up. Heโs never going to retire is he? Weโll still be watching him fight at 60 with a fat muffin top belly hanging over those yellow and black shorts at this rate.ย
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 29, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted October 29, 2020 i think so, he's always admired and had that strange rivalry with Roy Jones Jr. and I see Andersons post-UFC career being similar to Jones' post-prime. I don't see him having the same pulling power as he did, otherwise he wouldn't be headlining a Fight Night show. Could be that the UFC are happy to just let him go off and do his own thing now. And his "own thing" is probably a few semi-pro boxing matches.

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 30, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 30, 2020 Even if he fights again somewhere else, this is most likely Anderson Silvaโs last UFC fight. End of an era. Havenโt watched these myself yet but should be worth a look. Morning Kombat with Luke Thomas and Brian Campbell discussing Andersonโs legacy; Ariel Helwani and Daniel Cormier on Andersonโs career and legacy; Various fighters (Khabib, Adesanya, Blachowicz etc)ย talk about their memories of watching Anderson and his influence on them; Andersonโs old pal Chael chimes in; ย
