dopper
The correct answer is obviously Flasheart and/or Country Mac. But an honourable mention for Will Arnett in Parks & Recreation playing a weirdo who Leslie (played his then-real life wife) got set up with on a blind date. Keith Houchen
Extras really suffered from the reliance on cameo appearances, e real case of diminishing returns, but the Patrick Stewart one was sublime.

Chris Martin allowing himself to look like the prick we all know he is, that was pretty good.
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted July 28, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 28, 2020 I've not watched Extras in over ten years but I remember Daniel Radcliffe being great too. Jonathan Ross was abysmal.
dopper
I really liked Sir Ian McKellan constantly referring to himself as "Sir Ian" and explaining what acting was to other actors on 'Extras'.

Paid Members gmoney Posted July 28, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 28, 2020 I found with extras almost all the cameos were written in the exact same way, i.e the celeb is arrogant, oblivious and rude. Which is coincidentally the same shtick that Gervais does. The ones that were different stood out a mile, like Patrick Stewart, Barry, Les Dennis. Paid Members air_raid Posted July 28, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 28, 2020 Moira Stewart reimagined as a cocaine dealer was quite amusing.

Especially considering some of the background stories on the episode making the players on occasion sound like maniacs or dumbasses.
MVP RULZ
Talking of Patrick Stewart I thought he he was great in his guest spot as the Gay Opera Director in the Final season of Fraiser.
Grecian
With apologies for even naming the series but the episode of The Big Bang Theory with James Earl Jones taking Sheldon on a night out is one I've always liked. Feel free to bring back down votes.
Paid Members Wretch Posted July 28, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 28, 2020 The funniest of all the Sunny guest stars, in one of the best episodes no less (The Gang Wrestles for the Troops for those who haven't seen it). He randomly turns up a few seasons later and plays a blinder in the timeshare episode too.
