I hate this argument that implies if you can't enjoy them you're some kind of killjoy. I wouldn't watch a film wanting to or expecting to hate it. It's not my fault that those films are so intrusively

I’ve got to pick my daughter up from school at 12, just enough time to squeeze this in

Fast forward, surely.

Jut rewatched Knives Out for the first time since the cinema. Perfect casting and just as enjoyable the second time. I haven't googled it so it's probably already been answered but I have a theory (which I may have mentioned before)....

When Blanc is first introduced he taps the piano every time someone lies and taps it when they say that the stories just came, fully formed, to their father. He then mentions that his own father was a Police Detective who knew Harlen. I put it to you that he stole his crime ideas from Blancs father!...or it could just be a throwaway line.

Anyway. Great film, can't wait for the sequel

Animals (Prime)

Holliday Grainger and Alia Shawkat are best friends who live a life of debauchery and drift apart when one grows up and wants to settle down.

Rubbish, cliched bollocks that has been told much better elsewhere, and a waste of the two leads.

How To Build A Girl (Coercion)

Without doubt, one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life, an irredeemable piece of shit that was so bad it has almost made me hate one of my favourite Manics songs.

So fuck this film and everyone involved in it.

I had considered this, but as a huge Manics fan I'm more than worried. That bad 4real?

It's just a tiny scene but it's guilt by association. The film is so fucking shit, they're nearly tarred with the brush.

Blade Runner 2049 (Prime)

Watched the lovely 4K version of this on Prime so I could regret all over again not seeing it in IMAX. An instant masterpiece. Why am I not seeing Sylvia Hoeks in more films yet?

EDIT - Oh hello! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8081094/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_2

Enchanted April (YouTube)

Like all period dramas, amazingly boring and Josie Lawrence really should have stuck to Whose Line is it Anyway?

The Saint (Netflix)

Fucking crap. Val Kilmer is almost always rubbish but even he's not to blame for how boring this is.

The Hunger (Prime rental)

Not one of Tony Scott's best but still decent and stylish throughout with some great performances. I still miss Tony Scott.

A Summer Tale (YouTube)

Imogen Stubbs gets them out. There's absolutely no other reason to watch this.

Was settling down for the evening a little while ago planning to just flick through tv for a bit before an early evening but True Lies was just starting on e4. So looks like I'm here for a while! Forgot how great this film is.

Had a proper shit day so....

The Fugitive (Prime rental)

One of the best films of the 1990s. Intelligent, well acted, great action scenes, superb plot, perfectly cast. Just an absolute pleasure every one of the thousands of times I've seen it.

One for @bAzTNM#1 there!

A Sylvia Kristel biopic probably would be very good. She had an extremely sad life involving famous men (Ian McShane was one of them!) conning her out of all her money, drugs, going all the way to actual street prostitution in the late 80s, before she had a minor resurgence in the mid 90s then she died of Cancer.

The Monster Squad

The Spanish blu-ray on Amazon has English audio on it as long as you can work out the menu.  Goonies with Dracula which we ended up buying after getting into a conversation about Shane Black while watching Iron Man 3 on Disney+.  It turned out that the Mrs had never seen "Una Pandilla Alucinante" (A Mind-blowing Gang).  Still a lot of fun, still not quite as good as The Goonies, but it does have a couple of sweet tunes.
