Dominic Raab talking about 'taking the knee' as something about subordination/subjugation and being from Game of Thrones would be hilarious if he weren't actually the foreign secretary.

If you understand what taking the knee represents, you have a significantly better understanding of cultural events in the US right now than the fucking foreign secretary.

Enough racists think being asked to take the knee is a submissive gesture to black authority. This won't help. And it gives an insight - who does Raab think he's being asked to be subordinate to?

Dominic Raab, the former human rights lawyer. It would be funny if it wasn't so fucking ghastly.

Also, when somebody has actually explained what it means and therefore it has long been established as meaning what that person has said it to mean, to then try and paint it as something else is ignorant at best, and snide and dishonest at worst.

Given that this is Dominic "It Puts The Lotion In The Basket" Raab we're talking about, I'm not inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Just now, Keith Houchen said:

Without trivialising anything, it was the way he referred to it as "The Game Of Thrones" like he was a WWE star referring to an English football club.

Yeah, that added to the cringe. It's like people referring to WCW as "the WCW." Bret Hart was guilty of that, the Canadian dimwit.

Or Bret Hart referring to any PPV ever.

Saw a new one today. #BritishLivesMatter What the fuck does that even mean? Probably the same people who were crying about PL players taking a knee. Some were even complaining that they should have been thinking about Covid victims, who they just had a minute's silence for.
