Despite my stance on chippies and kebabs I've actually had a few banging breakfasts from chippies. One of them even subbed traditional breakfast sausage for chippy style sausage. Paid Members JNLister Posted May 18, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2020 Given eggs and baked beans are two of my most despised foods (the other being celery), I don't really care for traditional cooked breakfast rules. I'll go for bacon, mushrooms, hash brown, black pudding and a slice of toast with Marmite, but the most important thing is that you have it in the evening with a pint of Guinness. Rey_Piste
I have definitely had a fry up in a 'Spoons in the morning with a pint of Guinness as a bit of the hair of the dog.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 6, 2020 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2020 I don't eat fry ups very often at all, maybe a couple times a year... But I have had them in my mind since this thread started and I finally got around to making myself a little one today. Really enjoyed it! Paid Members FLips Posted June 6, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 6, 2020 I can't remember the last 10 pages of this thread but was it decided children's potato waffles were a proper part of a fry up?
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted June 6, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 6, 2020 They are waffley versatile. It looks lovely, but @SuperBacon liking a fry up with no bacon is a mind melter.

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 6, 2020 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2020 I only recently found out you can cook potato waffles in a toaster so I had to try it out. It's a real game changer tbh!
Harry Wiseau
I was just typing about doing them I the toaster and you beat me to it. They taste better and it frees up space in the oven  Hash browns work in the toaster too, although the next time you cook toast you can smell fat, but that's a small price to pay for a convenient midnight hash brown sandwich. Mr_Danger
Waffles are a really good substitute for hash browns, don’t be waffle shaming. I went through a phase of having three mini breakfasts for a while. A small bowl of cereal, a bit of jam on toast and some eggs and bacon. It was 100% inspired by reading the excerpt from Steve Bruce’s book on here about how he does the same.
