There was something last year where he upset a bunch of folk after he defend Woody Allen, but that's all I've read about I don't want to derail the thread, as what I read has since been deleted, so let's leave it at he's a bit fucking creepy at best and worse at worst (allegedly). But yeah, like Bill Murray, he completely plays up to the Jeff Goldblum character. Or maybe he's just like that? I don't know. I've had a rough day.
Undefeated Steak 486
Had the app for a few days and been watching the Cosmos series which I'm sure I've seen before, but it's good nonetheless. NGT can be unbearable sometimes but he was at his best throughout this. Also watched that Space X documentary which is well worth a watch. Nothing you might not already know but it was surprisingly well put together, and there's a few hair raising moments in it.
RIDDUM_N_STYLE 415
Watched a couple of films earlier, Brother Bear, which I only watched because my mate's girlfriend has been bugging me for weeks to see it as it's her favorite film, I can see why some would like it but personally I thought it was a bit meh. After that I watched The Black Cauldron, I genuinely don't remember ever seeing this as a kid but its a really fun and slightly dark film which also has historical significance as it was the first film to use the classic blue and white castle signature with the reworked version of When You Wish Upon A Star from Pinocchio
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator 3,752 Posted April 1, 2020 Awards Moderator Report Share Posted April 1, 2020 We've been working our way through the Pirates of the Caribbean films. 1 - still really good, should have just watched this one five times 2 - not good 3 - some good bits but an hour too long, Starting on the fourth one tonight. I've never seen the fifth.

Have you really run out of things to watch?
cobra_gordo 1,086
Are there any episodes of Tail Spin on there? This is a key factor in whether I subscribe or not.
Bicurious Dad 1,006
No Tail Spin, but apparently it's coming in the next couple of months - it's on the US version so might just be one that needs to wait for the on demand rights to expire elsewhere.

Awards Moderator Onyx2 5,144 Posted April 1, 2020 Awards Moderator Report Share Posted April 1, 2020 It's almost as if it was designed as a ride first then turned into a film.
Loki 3,057
I gotta admit I have a soft spot for Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's dad. Â That alone made 3 and 4 worthwhile. Â I'd not watch them again, mind.
Factotum 1,307
I rewatched Curse Of The Black Pearl yesterday and it still holds up as a really great family action film. The others I don't think i can ever watch again. For a series that had such potential it just...urgh

Yep, even the Fast and Furious series at some point thought we need to make these better. That said, and I haven't watched it since the cinema, I seemed to remember that the 5th POTC film was better then 3 and 4 because Jack Sparrow was reduced to being pretty much a sidekick
Factotum 1,307
Yeah that was the issue with the franchise. The pushed Jack front and centre, when he worked as the side story to the main bit. Depp also went OTT with it and nobody could really tell him not to, Though I'll give him credit, the fact he showed up to those schools and hospitals in costume whenever he could makes me forgive the rest of those films. I will however, never watch any of them again.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator 3,752 Posted April 1, 2020 Awards Moderator Report Share Posted April 1, 2020 In slightly surprising news, Pirates 4 is actually pretty okay! Far better than I remembered, and definitely superior to 2 and 3. They didn’t over complicate the story, they didn’t over-sillify Jack, they didn’t go overboard on CGI. It also had Stephen Graham in it, and Rodrigo y Gabriela did some of the music, both of which are good things.
