Grecian
Just out of interest, anyone else have a kid in Reception, Year 1 or 6? We've already had a phone call from the school asking if we're sending our Year 1 in on the 1st June. We've said no, unless there is absolutely minimal risk and infections have reduced even further. I'm not keen for my daughter to part of Johnson's science experiment for the second wave.
Joe Blog
I doubt that many schools are going to allow any children back in. The consensus seems to be that if it happens it will be year 6 only and minimal kids to trial how it could work.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted May 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted May 15, 2020 We've said no to our Year 1 going back. I'm not massively keen on her staying off because I'd love her to get back to normal and see her friends but this is far from normal and we've no reason to take any risk as we're all at home. Elder daughter is in Year 10 and there is some talk of them going back. She's desperate to go so that one might be more of an argument. Grecian
We've had a letter from the school, outlining the precautions they have to take. No mixing of age groups, maximum of 15 kids to a class, desks 2 metres apart, limited toilet breaks, amongst many others. That'll be hell for the kids, seems dumb to put them through that for seven weeks before the summer holidays. She's not going to want to go back in September if that's how she remembers it. She's definitely not going in now.
SuperBacon
Slowly, they're learning to become little comrades.
