In fairness to him, I don't remember watching the fight with Bobby Green, and since it's thought of as really great I'm sure I'd have remembered it if I had watched it so I'll have missed that one. I guess I put the Ferguson fight down to Tony being the one unable to be in anything other than an exciting fight and Vannata being the other half of the equation who held up his end of the bargain (rightly or wrongly) and the Makdessi KO being one of those shots that miss 19 times out of 20 but that this one landed. As seen this weekend though, it's not that rare with Vannata, as he caught Yancy fairly cleanly with a spin kick. He just got off to a stupidly entertaining start in the UFC and I’ve loved him for that ever since. He’s one of those guys who’s never going to be a contender, but I always make a point of catching his fights, even if they’re on the Fight Pass only bit. He took the Ferguson fight on short notice as well. Ferguson was meant to fight Michael Chiesa but pulled out, Lando stepped in on about 2 weeks notice, as a complete unknown for his UFC debut, against Tony Fucking Ferguson, and had Ferguson in all kinds of trouble before inevitably getting submitted.
