Paid Members JNLister Posted October 27, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted October 27, 2019 And for those who don't spot why people would be upset by this shirt: Ā

Paid Members Shy Dad Posted October 27, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted October 27, 2019 Someone on twitter tried to justify it by using the fact Mauro uses the phrase "he's got smiles for myles" whenever he's in the ring.Ā This is Mauro who's become unavoidably shit since returning to WWE and probably has at least one of those two in his ear every taping.Ā The entire company is clueless.Ā

Paid Members Nick James Posted October 27, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) Good on Myles for standing up and saying something. Not only is it racist, itās a god awful shirt as well. They have now put out a new shirt and taken that one down. DavidB6937
It's always an interesting situation with something like this. I wouldn't look at it and automatically associate it with what has been mentioned but obviously we all have different perspectives. Perhaps that's the problem in WWE marketing. They might not have enough of a wide representation internally to identify potential issues like that.
Whistling Skull
I hope he actually talked to Triple H and McMahon before he did all this. They're his bosses and should not be hard to reach.

WWE CAN'T release him or be seen to be punishing him over this. Don't get me wrong - they will eventually, because they are incredibly petty and that's what they do but, as PITCOS said, he has done the best thing for his immediate future. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted October 28, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted October 28, 2019 If he didnt go public, I imagine Vince and Triple H would have been standing over him shouting "wear the damn mistrel shirt!" until he agreed to it. He has every right to be pissed off, like. That looks like those bootleg t-shirts you'd get at Blackpool on a market stall in the 90s. "Arnold Rimmer Says Go Home To Your Own Country!" etc.
andrew "the ref" coyne
Apparently the shirt was changed a MONTH ago. Does this change anything?Ā If WWE were alerted to it, they changed it without any public statement, and then the wrestler kicked up a stink... Does that change the nature of this? Bicurious Dad
So their statement was that it was a month ago andĀ he signed off on the design (probably gave it as much thought as the junior graphic designer who had to shit out 30+ new logos for the NXT launch in probably a very short timeframe), then either he realisedĀ or someone else points out to him the blackface connotations so he asks for it to be changed and it was before any shirts were sold. Then, a month later he goes on a twitter tirade about it and stirs up the microcosm that is the twitter hate machine. It's either something about nothing or it's a work, the latter being especially likely forĀ calling out Vince and HHH who won't have seen that logo for even a microsecond let alone sanctioned or suggested the design. As I said on the previous page, I genuinely wouldn't have seen anything wrong with it at all, but I can see why some picked up on it. Bicurious Dad
My point was specific to Ralphy, but I daresay it would extend to many of those feigning outrage about this on the internet.
