Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 29, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 29, 2019 Was just coming in to post that. Haven’t got around to it yet but - Nate Diaz and Ariel Helwani talking for nearly an hour in an empty MSG - should be good. Ariel doesn’t do enough of these since jumping to ESPN. His past sitdowns with Rampage, McGregor, Bisping etc were fantastic. Couple with Masvidal that might be worth a watch as well. Masvidal & Ariel Helwani; Masvidal & Brett Okamoto;
David
I have to admit, in recent times Okamoto has taken over as the best journalist in MMA for me.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 30, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 30, 2019 Yeah he’s been good for ages but it’s obviously been magnified since the ESPN deal kicked in. He puts out great content, asks good questions and doesn’t make the interview about himself like Helwani has been known to do in the past.
David
Yeah, I agree. He just seems like a proper, mainstream, legit journalist. Many who cover the MMA scene still seem a bit amateur to be honest.

Paid Members WeeAl Posted November 1, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted November 1, 2019 (edited) So Darren Till is having visa issues, and is only expected to arrive in time for the real weigh in's. This seems to be stemming from the trouble he got himself into in Tenerife earlier in the year. I don't think this is ideal preparation for Till, obviously, and could seriously hurt his chances against Gastelum if he is pretty jet lagged by only getting to the country the day before he has to fight. Jared Cannonier is on stand by in case Till doesn't make it, but Gastelum has said he won't be taking that fight if it comes to it. https://www.mmafighting.com/2019/10/30/20940462/visa-issue-delays-darren-tills-ufc-244-arrival-jared-cannonier-on-standby Edited November 1, 2019 by WeeAl
David
Can't blame Gastelum for that really, Cannonier is a fighter you don't just face on a few days notice.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 1, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted November 1, 2019 Till is already there, he was delayed but he got in overnight.
Paid Members WeeAl Posted November 1, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted November 1, 2019 Oh absolutely, he's just right to turn that down. It'd be a massive gamble, especially when if the fight with Till doesn't go ahead, then it'll probably get rebooked for an overseas Fight Night fairly soon.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 1, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted November 1, 2019 Cannonier will make weight regardless, he will get paid his show money just to hit 185.
