Right people, right time, just the wrong location.

Fucking hell who’s arsed. Let people get excited about things.

For a TV Guide photoshoot promoting a new wrestling show, this is what you want to see. Not you brothers wedding reception, like those cunts above. You're selling professional wrestling. Nothing else.

They are wrestling in brits surgery

I didn't know that. There's no part of me that wants to see this. I don't even mean this in a dismissive "this will be awful" kind of way - it's that I fucking hate the dentist, I know they'll use a dentist's drill at some point and even the sound of that makes me want to cower in a corner and cry.

I never thought that I'd looking forward to Best Friends matches as much as I do now but that was a cracking opener. Why they couldn't have found a space for them on the PPV is beyond me. Them vs Santana and Ortiz is a cage could be cracking.

Personal highlight was Ricky Starks having his shirt pulled above his head during the big brawl and having to scrap looking like Cornholio.

I like Chuck Taylor, but someone really needs to teach him how to throw a punch, those slow motion forearms are just painful to watch...

Someone needs to bring Bomber Pat Roach back from the dead and teach these indy kids to step in on their forearms. They should be thrown like a fucking shoulder block, not tapped against their neck leaning in from two feet away. Add the "three shite forearms then running away to the furthest ropes" to the pet hates thread.

Apart from that atrocious battle royal segment - where I swear they were letting fans into the ring and trying to make the Casino Battle Royale the most unappealing match imaginable - I thought that was a decent go home show that re-sparked my interest in a couple of feuds.

Chris Jericho/Orange Cassidy has been desperately sad, but they've had their moments, and last night was the best of the lot. It's always good to see Jericho drop the camp bullshit and remind you of the level he's at. Just nice simple stuff - squash, beatdown and awesome Chris Jericho head games. Jericho was a cut above again, and he's the only guy smart enough to realise going 50/50 with Joey Janela is a waste of everybody's time. The code breaker spot was a fucking popper. The brawl at the end was a ton of fun too.

I'm all in on The Young Bucks as cocky, gum chewing pricks and I'm desperate to see a heel turn. The FTR/Page/Omega stuff that followed didn't quite measure up. The Elite are so wishy-washy on the mic I can't sink my teeth into much of their angles. They tell their best stories in-ring. That shot of The Hangman holding out the belt with Kenny looking on sadly from the outside was a thing of beauty though. The journey has been a bit muddled, but The Bucks and Omega switching heel with Page as the outlaw babyface would be be a cracking result. Really looking forward to the Tag tile match and I'm still eager to see where they go with it all.

Thunder Rosa vs Serena Deeb was the most sound AEW women's match I've ever seen. Deeb trained at the Performance Center didn't she? You'd think she's be an automatic hire.

Still not sold on MJF and Moxley. I admire the effort, but MJF "getting violent" was a little hard to swallow at this point. If only it was like this from the beginning instead of weeks of Honky Tonk MJF. Also, you get so much juice on this show every week, that him smearing Moxley's blood over his face hit nowhere near as hard as it should have. The lawyer stuff was boring crap and full-on Ambrose. Wardlow feels like the bigger match, honestly. I fucking love Wardlow.

Dustin vs Brodie Lee would've been nice indeed. More Dustin in general would be nice. Is Dustin more knackered than we realised? The Cody match got me excited and got me thinking of Dustin's role as the last gang in town. The Bruce Wayne or The Undertaker of AEW, if you like. The popular protected star that appears every so often, in big box office personal feuds. He's one of the best pure babyfaces in all the history of wrestling and they're just sitting on him. It kills me that he's become another face in the crowd, with his shitty doughy mate.

Thought it was a solid episode but Jim Ross needs to go, he's so bad. Either do a 2 man team or replace him with Tazz. He was at his worst during the Thunder Rosa match where he was giving unenthusiastic back-handed compliments about how good they are for women. His "star power" has drawn everyone it will have when AEW launched, nobody will leave if Jim Ross isn't there.

I can't think of a combo they have without Ross that wouldn't be better than one with him.

He's got no enthusiasm for 80% of the roster, hardly any fore knowledge and seems to constantly refer to old territory workers who most of their supposed target audience won't have heard of.

If you want a voice with experience and cache with older wrestling fans you have Schiavone who has been doing everything he can to get younger talent over. Tazz and Excalibur both provide more information and help drive the action from both technical and story telling perspectives. When Jericho is on the desk he"s the best storyteller they have. Fuck me, even Veda Scott has provided more useful insight and hasn't detracted from the action like JR does.

If I wanted an elderly man to constantly tell me that the wrestlers are stupid or ask me if I can remember wrestlers from the past, I'd be watching AEW with me Dad. I don't and I'm not.

As an aside I find it fucking hilarious listening to Ross lay praise on the Young Bucks, cause they're his bosses, when he spent years not even trying to hide his contempt for them in his NJPW commentary.

Schiavone actually sounds happy to be working in wrestling again and makes an effort. His stuff with Baker was great (other than maybe the first promo) and contributed to her character growth.

JR sounds like a resentful old prick which was rather amusing at first but has completely outstayed it's welcome. He's actively dragging the product down with every disingenuous remark and pissy comment.

Said it before but someone needs to grow a backbone and have a word with him or just fuck him off.

She's a former WWE wrestler! Was apart of the Straight Edge Society along with CM Punk. And she became a coach at the performance center. She'd be a great hire.

I did get a chuckle in that match where Jim Ross goes....

"WOW! I have to say... ah... well... I'm probably going to get into trouble for this.... but this is actually a good women's wrestling match for AEW. They should hire her."

I lost count of how many times JR stated it was "fundamentally sound"

The Bucks/FTR/Page & Omega angle is still where my interest lies the most but fuck me does Kenny try his best to ruin that, every time he opens his mouth it feels like he's trying to sabotage the segment by sounding as fake as possible and like he thinks everything is a joke.
