A quick search of 'Sable' in the ObserverQuotes archive brought up these chunks; - Sable did an interview in a low cut top revealing yet another boob job. Marc Mero blocked the cameras...Sable needed another boob job like Yokozuna needs more cake and ice cream so go figure what goes through people's minds. [7/97] - Thrasher beat Goldust in 4:28 when the person CBS called the world's most dangerous boob job, Sable, slapped Goldust. [2/98] - ECW brought out a world famous hardcore porn star, who was wearing more than Sable usually shows every week on Raw. [3/98] - Do you realize that if silicon were magnetic, that once Sable and Luna got within the gravitational pull of each other there would be no force in the universe strong enough to break them apart? [3/98] - Without the ridiculous boob job, Sable has a phenomenal body for her age, but with it, she looks like just another low-rent stripper. [5/98] - Sable's breasts make her look like a human oddity and she should be managed by Jackyl. [6/98] - Before the next match, Sable walked to the ring without tipping over, and introduced Vince McMahon. [7/98] - Sable had been gone a few weeks to get, guess what, her 31st boob job. [2/99] Good grief.

That's the same with most things. Like "Kick racism out of football". We seem stunned every time there is a racist incident in a football ground. Perhaps because people think they've solved racism. They clearly haven't, they've just made football an unwelcome environment for it. The same with misogony. It's still out there. People are just more careful with their expression. But get a load of lads together and you'll still get the archaic views that make the rest of us take a stand by tutting or something. As said, I wouldn't defend it. But people in glass houses and all that. It's like this below from AP. It doesn't read too clever. But if you went searching for comments about Stephanie McMahon or the Katie Price, you'd find millions as bad or worse. 18 minutes ago, Accident Prone said: A quick search of 'Sable' in the ObserverQuotes archive brought up these chunks; - Sable did an interview in a low cut top revealing yet another boob job. Merzbow
I mean it sounds like you're using whataboutism to defend it to me, or at least to stop people calling it out. Also, not too keen on your implications about myself there.

Nervously chuckling about how, “great,” it was, you could tell he had no idea it was a parody and had never heard of the Fyre Festival. The man couldn’t be deeper in the bubble. You wonder how he even functions in the real world. Dave is roughly the same age as my parents, I'm pretty certain they have no idea or have never heard of Fyre Festival either. I always find it amusing when I see people use the phrase "in the bubble" on Twitter or on forums, as 9/10 the person throwing the term around is someone who I would be consider to be deeply "in the bubble" themselves. Nice idea Rick but this was always going to end up a shit on Meltzer thread by the usual suspects. I would've put my life savings on three of the posters to pile in and wade on Dave, they didn't let me down and I wouldn't have lost a penny. I'm not judging anyone else. But my experience is that most men had horrendous attitudes. On here it was rife. i'd only exclude Houchen who has always had a wonderfully progressive attitude. The rest of you are animals.

That doesn't change the fact that he typed those sentences out and thought, "Yep, that'll do", and hit PRINT on his HP Deskjet 895C. Someone can change for the better and that's great, but it's also weird to look back and think, "Fuck, you've REALLY changed for the better". So whilst he may be a bit of an arsehole now, he was a lot worse back in the day. I'm saying that as someone who's a fan, in general, of Meltzer's work. DX were encouraging women to show their tits and putting on "Pakistani" accents for lols. A babyface was a pimp. Trish Stratus was scripted to get on her knees and bark like a dog. Fuck, ten years later they were hiring swimsuit models because Johnny Ace fancied them. Again, it's not right but nor is it like Meltzer was some abnormality. Paid Members Accident Prone Posted June 27, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted June 27, 2019 (edited) I'm in no way saying he is a lone wolf in his thinking and writing back then, I'm just pointing out the attitude that he did have. Again, I think Meltzer is a great historian and his views on wrestling often go in line with my own, I'm not attempting some character assassination. Whistling Skull
First time I was ever exposed to Sable was at Capital Carnage. Christian and Sable v. Marc Mero and Jackie. Never thought any horrible shit about Sable, other than that she didn't actually do a lot. Jackie got her breasteses completely exposed at the end of the match and I was still perfectly fine respecting her as one of the best female wrestlers around. I can't be alone in this, can I? Keith Houchen
I can't remember who said it on here, but given who Meltzers boys were, his views on women aren't surprising. It's no defence, obviously, but he is in my opinion hardly the worst in the world of wrestling. To be honest, my main issue with him isn't actually him, it's the way his fans use "Meltzer says" as if it's a completely cast iron source of journalism. I also think that a great point was raised in this thread about how Meltz gives his opinion and newz sites then print it as newz. That isn't his fault and is something I'll take on board.
