MeltzerMania is running wild

Have we got a Meltzer thread? Anyway, this is one. Maybe the most polarising figure on the site. Let's have his best and worst bits.

I adore this tweet. He's 100% right and proves it by using an analogy that is 100% wrong. That takes some incredible "talent".

16 minutes ago, Yakashi said:

He is far, far too emotionally and personally invested in New Japan and AEW to the point where he’s just become a twitter troll gimmick now, which is ironically the thing he complains about the most.

He's a workrate wanker. He always has been. It's not just those promotions, he overrates NXT regularly.

In fairness, though he's made some daft claims, he's just as desperate for AEW to force a reaction from WWE as most of us who see wrestling in a real nadir at the moment. One of his tweets today criticised people who want WWE to die as being as bad as those who don't want AEW to push them to be better. He's right.

The thing with Meltzer is that he's trying to be a critic, a journalist, and an opinion columnist all at once. And when the vast majority of people don't read or hear anything behind the paywall, it all gets conflated into one, so something that he might speculate about or suggest as a good idea on a podcast gets reported on the NEWZ sites as fact, because they don't make the distinction between his journalism and his opinion.
