The Plusnet adverts with @Onyx2 in.

Those fucking Nationwide adverts where members of the public read their shit self-penned poems into their camera phone.

Some mate when you can't even remember that his name is Greg from the Halifax.

“Work from home desks turned back into dinner tables” - fuck off McCain, if they want me back in the office they’ll have to kill me.

It slipped out this week that the company that's taking us over will be reassessing those that returned from furlough to the office to make sure they can really, really justify doing so, and can't work from home after all.

I don't want to suggest that the upper echelons of management are a bit out of touch with us office peasants, but when I explained difficulties that I would have in meeting their requirements for homeworking (has to be a hard connection and not WiFi, can't have other people in hearing range, etc), I was told to simply set up an office in "one of my spare rooms".

"cos, you know, we all have a bunch of those just lying around.

The much maligned Go Compare ads have now taken an even worse turn by breaking kayfabe showing the man behind Gio Compario transforming himself into the character while bragging about his real life operatic career

The shittest bit of it is when he 'reveals' its him by donning the moustache and singing 'Go Compare' no where near as good as he's seen doing at the concert. Considering they could have had any amount of takes, its fucking awful.

Try being Welsh, we've had him being a dire DJ on Radio Wales for years.

Nationwide are back at it with a pair of stinkers. One is some beardy twat talking about not doing yoga, but the worse offender is some girl lying about getting a piece of cake on the house with her Latte. It might be nearly closing, but that cakes going in the fridge till tomorrow

Aren't most of the Nationwide adverts involving struggling stand up comics or the like as well just to make them more irritating? I'm sure over time I've seen a few of the "man on the street" types turn up doing brief skits over the years.

This Tesco “No Naughty List” Christmas ad is winding me up at the moment. Doesn’t matter what you did/didn’t do this year, it’s Christmas, treat yourself. They start with quite innocuous things like not managing to do maths when homeschooling, but it crosses a line when Santa admits he went away on holiday. Doesn’t matter, Santa, there’s no naughty list. You probably didn’t infect too many people with your international travel. I assume the extended version of the ad has chinmaskers, pro-statue protesters and people who are still having friends round every weekend.

If we’re going to re-visit the theme of awful adverts that remind us of the horrific pandemic instead of just selling us a product, let’s take a moment for Morrison’s fucking bobblehead Santa with a mask dashboard toy, Direct Line having Sue Perkins utter tripe about “life’s like a movie plot at the moment,” Richard Ayoade imploring us to embrace a “new different “ before nonsensically putting a mask on before boarding his bike, and worst of all BT with Idris Elba (or a soundalike) warning us “the intern” might be after our job if we’re not Zooming with perfect clarity. The fear is too real for some of us, you cunts. Although not so much of being sacked for weak internet ... but being asked back to the office.

Also of note for current crap : the Pepsi Max ad is like a bunch of middle aged white marketing bods sat in a dusty boardroom decided to try and broaden their demographic by reading The Ladybird Book Of Rapping written in 1991. Should have gone the whole hog and had a bunch of kids in Reeboks and bum bags doing The Bartman.

I actually like the Tesco 'no naughty list' adverts. I think they are the best of the Christmas ads I've seen so far this year. You can't expect any companies to be making Christmas ads this year without trying to offer some light for people at the end of a year like we've been through.
