At the least, he's in the top 5. However, he will never get the acclaim he deserves because he's Khabib's stablemate and thus unlikely to fight for the belt in the near future. Makhachev is also not big enough of a name to be considered for the other money fights in the lightweight division. I kinda hope he ends up in Bellator, not only would he somewhat escape Khabib's shadow there, but he'd also likely become Also to the naked eye he seems to be fighting at his right weight so him loving up or down seems unlikely. Hey, whatever you guys get up to behind closed doors is your business but we really don’t need to know about it.  Edit - yet another great fight in the works. Brett Okamoto is saying that Niko Price vs Muslim Salikhov is close to a done deal for April in Portland. Love that fight. Price is always must see and Salikhov is an animal and a lethal striker. Perfect matchmaking. Edited February 12, 2020 by wandshogun09
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 I'm not normally one to share RT stuff, but the headline was funny: https://www.rt.com/sport/480060-khabib-conor-rematch-irrational-100-million/  Quote  '$100m to beat up that idiot again? I don't think that's rational' - Khabib on McGregor rematch (VIDEO) UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has rebuffed talk of a mega-money rematch with nemesis Conor McGregor, despite rumors of a Saudi Arabian bid to host the UFC superfight for $100 million. The Dagestani Eagle stopped Irishman McGregor in round four of a title defense in October 2018 after months of bad blood between the two, which famously bubbled over in the aftermath of Khabib's victory. A rematch has been rumored but Khabib, who is for a fifth time scheduled to face Tony Ferguson in April 18 for a defense of his belt, has repeatedly reiterated that there is no value in faving McGregor again. Speaking at a Q&A at the football stadium of FC Anzhi in his native Makhachkala, Dagestan, Khabib was bewildered as to why a rematch of what he considered a sound beating garnered so much interest. "I have a fight on April 18th. A very serious fight. For the past month and a half I’ve been consistently training day and night. I’ve gotten myself in good shape, to where I’m supposed to be 70 days before a fight. I feel great," Khabib said. "What’ll happen after the fight – no one knows. I don’t worry about it. That’s what they want. I’m surprised that people even question me about a rematch. It seems that people want to continue the festivities after that fight. "Everyone saw what happened in the octagon [versus McGregor]. I controlled the fight every step of the way. I did everything I wanted to him, he even gave up. How can we even discuss a rematch? We can only talk about continuing the festivities and making money. The question is: do I want that? I am focused on Tony Ferguson."  Khabib's motormouth manager Ali Abdelaziz recently told TMZ Sports that UFC were willing to offer Khabib $100 million for a rematch with McGregor, who came back from a layoff since the Khabib loss to KO veteran Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds on January 18. When asked what would be his reaction to a $100 million offer, the 31-year-old told reporters: "Why do I need that kind of money? There are so many organizations for example…There’s not only football for the blind, there’s Sambo and other sports. Let [UFC] give it to them, if they don’t know what to do with the money. "But giving me $100 million for me to beat up that idiot again? I don’t think that’s rational."  Khabib is set to fight Ferguson in one of the most eagerly anticipated fights in UFC lightweight history at UFC 249 at Barclays Center, Brooklyn. It's the fifth time the fight has been arranged to happen, each time falling through due to injury of either party, and has left fans wondering if a similar fate with befall the latest arrangement either in the lead up to the fight or in the octagon. "It’s impossible to predict a fight – what direction it’ll go in, that’s very difficult. I never worried about an opponent’s actions – what he’ll do and how he’ll do it. I always study an opponent’s strengths and try to deflect them when I get in the cage," Khabib told the gathered press. "You, however, never saw a cut on me, not even a black eye. So I don’t think it’ll be a problem. My head and skin are good, nobody ever cut me and I don’t think I’ll get one that’s so bad that the judges stop the fight. It’ll be interesting, I’ve never been hit in a way that left a black eye, so he’s got a task for himself."

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 UFC goes back to Dublin in August. Its never gonna involve Conor but what other Irish fighters does the UFC have on its roster now? im blanking.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 Not Irish, but Gunnar Nelson is an honorary Irishman. Other than that, only Joe Duffy, but he's not exactly done well in the UFC.
Kfogg1991
Omg that is absolutely incredible could we get it.......could we get a Conor McGregor main event in his home country
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 Cathal Pendred and Artem Lobov are coming back, obviously. Seriously, taking Conor out, I can’t think of any Irish talent in the UFC right now who would be headline or even co-headline worthy. Unless they’re finally bringing in Big Joe Joyce for his run at Heavyweight supremacy then I’m stumped.
Kfogg1991
I've just read on Twitter it's not a ppv it's a fight night card so the chances of Conor being on it are extremely slim. That being said like you said above who the hell could main event a card in Ireland and actually pull and create a buzz. The whole push for them to come back to Ireland is with Conor saying he wants to fight in his homeland and how much hes been on at dana for it...... Is there a chance that if Conor does want to fight on this with it being in his home country they will change it to a ppv because I can't see why that couldn't be a potential situation for a show like this
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 To be fair, they've got a lot of time between now and August to sign people. Maybe it's statement of intent to try and sign some of Bellator's Irish fighters?
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) I’d love to see McGregor push to get on there against Gaethje or someone, and Gaethje sparks him out cold in Ireland. Not saying that’s what I necessarily think would happen but it’s definitely what I’d hope for. That shit would be fucking hilarious. I seriously doubt McGregor is on that card though. Not only because it’s a Fight Night but also by then Khabib vs Ferguson will have (hopefully) happened in April and I can’t see McGregor wanting to fight someone else in August. The timing is all to cock. Especially if Khabib beats Ferguson. Can’t see him wanting to go right back into camp for an August fight in McGregor’s backyard. And why should he? Although that would be even more hilarious. Khabib crushing McGregor again but this time in Dublin. Edited February 13, 2020 by wandshogun09
Paid Members WeeAl Posted February 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2020 Lads, you're all mental. It'll be Jan Blachowicz Vs Corey Anderson III after the re-match ends in a draw. Supported by Lina Lansberg Vs Nicco Montano, Gunnar Nelson Vs Carlo Pedersoli, Joe Duffy Vs Stevie Ray and Cyril Asker Vs Ruslan Magomedov. Come to think of it, that may be wishful thinking.

Its exactly what we can expect, with the exception on the main event it's a perfectly fun show.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2020 Just seen that Walt Harris is coming back and they’re rescheduling that Overeem fight. It’s headlining the Portland show in April. Nice to see Harris back and that they’re giving him that main event spot he was meant to get in December before the tragic loss of his stepdaughter.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2020 not that it really matters but i found it odd than on the 248 broadcast they referred to Harris as 'the legend, Walt Harris'.
