I'm no expert on US tax but isn't the highest rate in the USA less than 40% after allowances etc? Again that's not just a flat 40%, it'll go up progressively depending on the income. Also, the double taxation stuff when someone fights abroad can be messy as fuck, but generally you'd only have to pay one lot of tax upto your normal rate from the country you live in, so if you do get stung twice you'd generally be able to correct that and claim it back when your tax return is completed. Few more fights confirmed over the last few days; - Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili 2 goes down at UFC 268 in November. I said it when the rumours of this one started but I don’t get this. I’m not fan of Carla Esparza but she deserved the shot here. And Namajunas vs Esparza 2 would’ve been a cool little full circle fight as it was the first ever Strawweight title fight at the end of TUF years ago, and Esparza won. I like Zhang but I don’t get why she’s getting an immediate rematch. She got sat down by a headkick in about 2 minutes, there was no controversy and it’s not like she was a long reigning dominant champ who’d be getting the rematch on the strength of their reign or longevity etc. Plus if she goes 0-2 to Rose here where does that leave her? Bit odd but whatever. 268 is ridiculously loaded now. And speaking of which… - Frankie Edgar vs Marlon Vera and Germaine De Randamie vs Irene Aldana have also been added to 268. GDR vs Alana is a decent matchup actually.
