Tusk is amazing. For two reasons, it's a stupid monster movie about Frankensteining a bloke into a Walrus. Because Michael Parks is wonderful and endlessly watchable. It's fun as hell. My only real issue with it is the scene between Depp and Parks. It completely kills the momentum of the film and is only there for Depp's ego.

It was good to see him do something that was a complete 180 from his normal film making style and it not be complete shit.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 18, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2019 I thought it was worse shit than his usual shit. Aside from Michael Parks, who always deserved better.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 18, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 18, 2019 I liked that cop movie with Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis. Nothing amazing, but it was decent fun.

Of course old wife beater Jonny has to do a silly accent and wear a stupid hat, which is all he does now.
Paid Members DEF Posted February 18, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2019 I don't have an issue with Depp being cast (this is prewife beating made public) or his silly accent. Just that it led to awful momentum killing scene. Luckily they reign it back in after it.
cobra_gordo
I quite like Jersey Girl. Seems to get shat on but it's Afleck being Afleck, George Carlin is typically great and J Lo is only in it for 2 minutes so doesn't get to be on screen long enough to be terrible. Good soundtrack too and a great cameo from everyone's favourite Will Smith.

The King Of Swing
I liked Mallrats when I was younger but I've always had a soft spot for dumb movies like that. Watched it when I got older and realised how fucking bad a lot of the acting was. SHE'S FUCKING DEAD. Clerks 2 is fucking toss. Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 18, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2019 As an edgy teenager, everyone used to rave about Dogma. I rewatched it recently, and its decidedly bang average.

It was one of the cool films to have watched at around the age of 13/14, I think mainly because of that smiling Jesus with the thumbs up. When I got to see it, like you say... average. Jay & Silent Bob was another one like that. I remember liking Chasing Amy when I first saw it. Never gone back to it, though, and I expect it hasn't aged well. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 18, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2019 He's making a new Jay and Silent Bob movie because apparently it's still 1999.
SuperBacon
Unashamed fanboy of his. Mallrats and Clerks have a special place in my heart, but Chasing Amy will always be his best film. “What’s a nubian?”
