The Maestro
Its not my favourite Manics album but its the easiest listen and a damn fine one that too. I'll never forget sitting on a beach in Croatia with an ice cream in 2000 rinsing this 4 years after its release at the age of 14.
Moderators neil Posted February 17, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 17, 2019 Can't be bothered to read the whole thread, especially as most of the UKFF have awful opinions on music, but Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures is pure perfection. I'm always inclined to say The Stooges' Fun House in threads like these, but LA Blues is pretty much unlistenable.

Few albums are able to transport me to another place like this one and make me feel certain emotions like this, its got a distinctive unqiue sound, the artwork/imagery band involved are iconic and theres not a dud song on it. I think alot of time you link albums with a specific period of time and putting on this album just puts me right back there. Perfect package. After rediscovering this album recently I came here to nominate it. Soma is my top song but what competition it has.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2020 Forgot to mention this first time round. What an absolutely beautiful album although all YLT's stuff is fantastic.
Magnum Milano
It was either this, Astral Weeks or Pacific Ocean Blue. I went for this. Fotzepolitic and Fifty-Fifty Clown are my standout tunes.
patiirc
Sgt! - Stylus Fantasticus Epic Japanese post prog that can go on repeat for days. So much going on each listen and an incredible journey. Mansun - Six Know its mentioned before but every song is fantastic, yes even, Shotgun Afghan Whigs- Gentlemen. By the time Brother Woodrow hits, you'll be exhausted, bewildered and haunted. Brilliant. Kerbdog- On the Turn Genuinely to this day will not know how this band never made it massive after this. No filler, just tune after tune 'if I had a clue, and a room...' Notable mentions:- Stereophonics- Language. Sex. Violence. Other. Iron Maiden-Dance of Death. Shed Seven- A Maximum High Pitchshifter- www. Pitchshifter.com Travis- The Man Who
