Friday afternoon fun . Which has been the worst PPV since 1990?

WCW Fall Brawl 1998 - How to kill a match concept. For the first time Pinfalls allowed and 3 man teams? as PS wrote "with the winner gets a title shot stip why was Stevie Ray just stoood around while Hogan was leg dropping Luger (?) for fun, Just pin him." The fact that Stevie Ray was in the main event of a PPV puts it up for consideration alone

WWF Crown Jewel - nuff said

WWF Wrestlemania XII - 6 matches for a WM and one of those only went 90 seconds, Goldust in lingerie, No IC title match, The ringmaster vs Savio Vega and the most boring main event ever.

ECW December to Dismember - this often pops up in "worst PPV" polls but its not that bad really. Big Show with a barbed wire baseball bat and Test in a main event should save it

WWF Great American Bash 04 - Forget the JBL/Eddie match. This PPV had the quality of Billy Gunn vs Kenzo Suzuki, Luther Reigns vs Charlie Haas and the Undertaker beating the Dudleys on his own.

Heroes of Wrestling - aka WTF was that

There are plaenty more, Uncensored 96 and 95, KOTR 95, Wrestlemania IX, TNA Victory Road 2011 so there is an "other" category in the poll.

Mentioned it recently but that TNA PPV (Lockdown 2007) that had both the hideous Harris/Storm blindfold match and the mind-numbing Electric fence match. The rest of the card could have been 6 Flair/Steamboat matches and it wouldn't have saved that.

IMO, Mania 12 isn't even the worst Mania post 1990, let alone the worst PPV.

What a disgusting selection of PPVs there. Don’t know what to vote.

Agreed with Rick though, Mania 12 sticks out like a sore thumb there. I’ve never been a fan of the Ironman match but it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as some of the other shite up there. The frustration with Bret vs Shawn for me was that it felt like a waste as you knew it should’ve and could’ve been so much more. Still, I can’t hate Mania 12. I was big into the build-up for both Bret vs Shawn and Taker vs Diesel. I loved the Backlot Brawl at the time and still really for its barminess. A PPV that has Vince McMahon on the headset while footage of the OJ Simpson police chase plays is one I can’t vote as worst anything. On top of all that, Warrior was back. My favourite wrestler when I first started watching, my first Hasbro etc. And as a WCW fan, seeing Vader, a bald Stunning Steve Austin and Johnny B Badd at a WrestleMania was quite a cool novelty for me. Even silly shit like the WrestleMania logo being on the canvas was something I liked as it’s not something the WWF ever really did. Actually, did they ever do that before or since?

King of the Ring 95 for me, always has and always will be. I thought at the time, and obviously still maintain, that Mabel was a fucking atrocious push as well as that god awful Bret Hart v Jerry Lawler kiss my feet bollocks. Definitely a case of "Hmm, I can see why all the other kids at school have stopped watching this."

I could never vote for Crown Jewel as it actually succeeded in getting me to watch a WWE show in 2018 and Heroes of Wrestling is too hilarious to be bad.

Knew KOTR would come up. I think there are worse PPVs in 1995 alone though. That Davey/Diesel headlined IYH show where absolutely nothing happens and it's memorable only for being unmemorable is worse. WCW's monster truck PPV is too.

I’ve decided it’s ECW’s Wrestlepalooza 98 for me. So I voted ‘other’. The cheek of them charging PPV for this load of old bollocks.

Shane Douglas vs Al Snow in a shit main event that felt like it went on forever but probably wasn’t that long. The only thing the match had going for it was that Al Snow was really catching on with the Head gimmick at the time. The match itself is cack, Douglas is injured and worse than usual and when it’s over they go on as if you’ve just watched Ric Flair vs Terry Funk in 1989.

The card also has Rob Van Dam vs Sabu, which goes to a 30 minute draw and is probably the worst and sloppiest match they had against each other. Main memory of it is Sabu sliding under the rope to throw up over the apron onto the floor. EC-Dub! EC-Dub!

Bam Bam vs New Jack, which I can’t remember at all but sounds like a styles clash. The FBI vs bWo might’ve been harmless fun. But you also had Axl Rotten on there to swing it back into sloppy shite territory.

I got the DVD of this turd back when Delta were releasing them all in 2001 or 2002, whenever. I felt like I’d been mugged when it was over.

First of all, WrestleMania XII doesn't belong in here at all. Piper/Goldust with added white Bronco gives that a pass. There was some real shite during late 2003 to 2004 when they had those thinly stacked single brand PPVs. And although it probably isn't one of the worst of all time, King of the Ring 2002 always stands out in my mind as one of the most boring events ever. Then the same could be said for a few of the King of the Rings tbf.

WM12 is great!

My nomination is Halloween Havoc 95.  Some awful finishes on the undercard, that weird fake Ultimate Warrior, then you had the Monster Truck fight that ended in Hogan pushing The Giant off the top of a fucking building, only for him to turn up to one of the worst main events ever, which culminated in The Yeti running in and gang banging Hogan with The Giant.

Halloween Havoc 95’s a great shout actually. I remember watching that on DSF, which made it even more confusing due to not having a clue what the commentators were on about so zero context or explanation for the abomination I was seeing. Saving grace, I suppose, was at least I was spared Schiavone screaming ‘THE YETAY!’ And the ad breaks on DSF featured nice German ladies who must’ve been allergic to bras.

Great American Bash 91, 1st show after Flair

Awful Scaffold Match

Oz and Yellow Dog in feature matches,  El Gigante vs OMG, Ricky sorry Richard vs Robert in a match no one wants to see, on the back of a whole new look for Ricky in which he ties his mullet into a ponytail!

A Cage match to crown a new Champion where a Face turns heel on a heel, only they don’t even have a new belt and borrow one from Dusty, they then follow that with a mixed cage match Rick Steiner and Missy vs Paul E and AA which goes 2 minutes, for me this is as bad as PPV gets

Can't look past Heroes of Wrestling. Every PPV aforementioned has something to show for it. Some positive aspect, no matter how minuscule. Heroes of Wrestling is an abhorrent mess, completely embarrassing for all involved.

Another vote for King of the Ring 95. I mean, they had Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker in the tournament and both are eliminated in the first round which is quite staggering. Meanwhile Savio Vega wrestles three times and Mabel of all people wins the thing! It's all well and good looking back with the benefit of hindsight but goodness me what a calamity.

About 6 WCW pay-per-views from 2000 beat everything on that list. Souled Out, Superbrawl, Uncensored, Great American Bash, New Blood Rising and Halloween Havoc just off the top of my head were horrendous.

I never count Heroes of Wrestling as a pay-per-view. That was a show where it was promoted as 50 year old fat blokes form the 80s in a casino trying to still wrestle. If you paid for that, you deserved what you got.

I didnt watch Crown Jewel, but by virtue of the fact the crew actually turned up puts it ahead of WCW Souled Out.
