JakeRobertsParoleOfficer
Hi guys Is there a story to this? Watching at the time I was shocked that in his first ppv match the 'miracle' kid gets pinned clean after a flying clothesline in. Quick time?? The result didn't make sense. Kid was hot and had beaten Razor (turning Razor face done the line) and Dibiase. If IRS had cheated I'd understand. It was a stiff as hell flying clothesline though. I always thought he'd knocked Waltman senseless with it and picked up an unbooked win. Ive never watched a Waltman shoot, is it ever mentioned?
neil is brill
I assume it was the planned finish. IRS's finisher was the flying clothesline which was named "The Write-Off" to fit the gimmick. I doubt there's anything more to it. Wrestler loses to finishing move.
Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 11, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 11, 2019 Summerslam 93? Well they were splitting up Money Inc at the time so it made sense to give IRS a bit of a singles push.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 12, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2019 Irwin spent the next few months working with Razor for the IC belt. He needed the win more than Waltman, who was off into tags.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 12, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2019 I blame WWF fans for the fact that every time a commentator said Denis Irwin's name during a United match my brain would immediately start going "IRRRRRRRRRRRWIIIIIIIIN!" returner82
I think the Kid has said he was getting a bit of an ego at the time given his push and launched too readily into misbehaving and ribs, so the loss here was to keep his ego in check. Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 12, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2019 Any match IRS was booked to win was a botch.
