Magnum Milano
England World Cup winner and goal scorer Martin Peters at the age of 76. The fifth member of the final team to pass away.
Keith Houchen
Ah this is a big loss. Neil Innes made music funny as opposed to novelty.
Magnum Milano
Came in to post about Neil Innes as it's just come up on my Twitter feed. Big fan of the Bonzo's after first being made aware of them by the late John Peel on his show.
Keith Houchen
Was glad he got some dosh from Oasis after they plagiarised his work. Seemed like a lovely man as well.

Paid Members Thunderplex Posted December 30, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted December 30, 2019 The Innes Book of Records was one of my favourite shows back in the day. Real shame.
Loki
Yeah, sad news. Really loved the Bonzos, didn't really know about the Rutles to be honest but his Monty Python work was fantastic as well.
Paid Members Monkee Posted December 31, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted December 31, 2019 I love The Rutles. I was at the Royal Albert Hall at the end of October to see The Bootleg Beatles with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra playing Abbey Road and Neil Innes was the compère. He was fantastic and I’m so glad I got to see him.
Keith Houchen
In a “How the fuck did you not know that” moment, I discovered yesterday that he wrote The Raggy Dolls. And it’s wonderful theme tune.

SuperBacon
My ex bloody loves Most Haunted (as an aside we've been ghosthunting loads of times, great fun even if you don't believe like me). We used to whack it on at night and fall asleep to it and I distinctly remember one of our first sexual forays being soundtracked by Derek continuously saying "Thank you Sam", "What's that Sam?" as I couldn't be arsed to go and turn it down. Now at least he will meet Sam.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 5, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted January 5, 2020 I think I might have told this story about Derek Acorah one night in UKFF chat to @Astro Hollywood and a couple of others but I'm not sure I ever detailed it on the forum. Me and my ex went to see him a couple of times at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon back in 2008 (I think). We were big watchers of Most Haunted back then and we even went to one of the live ones at Elstree as well. We were always sarcastic watchers of it so we went along to the show for a laugh more than anything. The first one was a full house and full of people who took it seriously so he got loads of bites from people who gave him the info he needed to bullshit his way through it all. In full flow he was quite the spectacle, you can see why the desperately grieving might be taken in by him. The second one was only about two-thirds full and I'd say pretty much everyone who was there was there to take the piss or to see other people take the piss. It was a *much* different show. Anyway, he comes out and talks about how Sam was sensing a bit of a sceptical atmosphere in the audience that night and that it might hinder his 'performance'. The first half was really uncomfortable. He only got about one bite and he was clearly getting annoyed at the pissed people that were sat around us loudly laughing at the stuff he was coming out with. He came back out after the interval RAGING. He actually told the audience off for not coming forward because he had a queue of spirits wanting to get in touch with people present who were "ashamed" of their relatives present. I genuinely thought he was going to have a breakdown. A bunch of people walked out when he started getting aggressive and basically bullied a woman sat near the front into standing up and doing a reading for her. It was also around the time he left Most Haunted and when a paper did an expose on the show and him being a fraud. When he was asked about Most Haunted he said he wouldn't go back because there were "bad people" working on it and that he would be doing something by himself very soon. Also, we named our first guinea pig Sam.

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted January 5, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted January 5, 2020 My Mum loves these kinds of things. She used to love the John Edwards stuff, and there was another British one. Colin Fry? Derren Brown did a bit about cold reading during one of his shows, didn't he?
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 5, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted January 5, 2020 Just now, jazzygeofferz said: My Mum loves these kinds of things. Colin Fry did a couple of Most Haunted appearances and it was said that one of the reasons Acorah left was because he got the hump with another medium being on other than him, don't know if it's true but it's likely.
