Damn!  Nog was a really run character with one of the most unusual arcs.  I did wonder if he'd appear in Picard.

Jad Fair and Kramer performing at the celebration of Daniel Johnston's life. When Jad Fair's guitar first comes in, it's so incongruous, but by the end I think it's absolutely perfect. Powerful stuff.

Sid Haig, 80 years old.

Man, I don't really bother with many celebrity type deaths but this one has stuck out as a horror fan. His rap sheet when it came to TV appearances was second to none of the "B-Actor" types of his day: MacGyver, the Dukes of Hazzard, Fall Guy, the A-Team, Fantasy Island, Buck Rodgers, Rockford Files, Mission Impossible, and the 60's Batman show.

Movie-wise he was in the likes of Diamond's are Forever, Foxy Brown, Jackie Brown, House of 1000 Corpses, Kill Bill 2, Devils Rejects, Rob Zombie's Halloween, Lords of Salem, Death House, and most recently, 3 From Hell.

A bit of a cult hero in that genre, but a hell of a hand in his day. RIP Sid.

I just had to watch house of 1000 corpses in preparation for my Halloween Horror Nights trip. Awful awful film, but he really stood out in it. And like you say he was one of those great character actors who managed to stand out in whatever he was doing.

I remember all his other horror stuff. Don't remember him in "Diamonds are Forever" though. I know he's in it, but it's a strange film to be on the guys CV when you look at all of the other films.

RIP Sid. Seemed a nice chap.

Exploitation legend who played a wonderfully creepy bastard.  First saw him in spiderbaby years ago. He had a desolate few years, but glad to see he was back up there.

Devastated to hear that Charles Bukowski has died again. I've only just got over his first death in the mid 90's.

I am sorry you have had to re-live this. @SuperstarNeilC I have just created a new thread for you.

I remember watching a film years ago, called The Aftermath, where Sid Haig plays a outlaw biker who has taken over LA following after it has been nuked. Pretty standard B-Movie horror/thriller, but he's menacing in it. He's very intense as an onscreen presence. A guy who can bring the level of the movie up several notches. Even shite Rob Zombie films. He took on paper a shit clown, and made him terrifying. Rob Zombie's characters are usually always basic 1970s rips, Sid Haig made sure it was more than that.
