Never seen that interview before. It reminds me of that Rock Paper Shotgun one with arch uber-cock Peter Molyneux where he has a bit of a breakdown.Ā

I hate Peter Molyneux with a passion ever since he did a talk at my Uni. In the space of two hours I went from knowing him as ā€œThe guy that made Theme Hospitalā€ to ā€œthe biggest fraud Iā€™ve ever metā€.

This was 2012 during the funding for Godus and every answer to any question he gave was a deceptive riddle of bullshit and bullet dodging. He was like a PR guy sent to say buzzwords with no knowledge of the product, except he was the one supposed to be making it!

He spent ages talking about Magic Carpet and Dungeon Keeper but wasnā€™t keen to talk about how he fucked Fable up or how heā€™dĀ made nothing of note in a decade. Any time post-Fable was brought up heā€™d change subject or talk so vague youā€™d think he had something wrong with him.

As he talked about Godus doing this and Godus doing that, the air sucked out of the room and you could audibly hear people sighing and tutting.Ā

Heā€™s a joke. Promises the world but if he was a pizza boy heā€™d be 2 hours late and would have scraped all the toppings off.

I think @LokiĀ knew people who worked for Molyneux. Ā I think they'd dread it when he did press because he'd say shit on the spot about what was going to be in his next game and they'd have to try and work out how to include it as it was the first they'd heard of it.

Yeah, he was a nightmare. Exactly what @Keith HouchenĀ said, he'd just make up stuff in front of journalists and then the team would have to try and create it, even if it was a terrible idea. Ā He was a fantastic designer in his heyday, but the industry passed him by and he was too arrogant to listen to others or adapt.

Then there was the whole Godus thing - his 22 Cans company was an utter disaster. Ā A couple of years ago I was at an awards ceremony (I was up for an award but didn't get it) and he was on one of the tables right at the back that all the randoms get put on. Ā A real fall from grace.

The industry has changed so much though, and Lionhead was one of those crunch points where the old world and the new met. Ā When they got taken over by Microsoft, all their servers were integrated into the MS corporate network. Ā Then about a month later some MS IT guy noticed that about 50% of the files on the Lionhead servers were porn. Ā That's what the place was like - smoking spliffs and doing coke in the toilets, and emailing each other porn. Ā The company never really recovered from having to suddenly be corporate and responsible.

Albert Finney. Ā An absolute powerhouse as an actor, the fucker made me cry for the right reasons during a Tim fucking Burton film. Ā GoĀ and watch him in Murder On The Orient Express, best Poirot there ever was.

RIP Peter Tork of Monkees fame.Ā

I bloody loved Head back when I was a moody teenager. Ā It's utterly absurdist but there's some great music, some lovely visual scenes and actually some good jokes in there as well.
