Clocks Go BACK. Winter Time (28th October. 2am)

I’ve got an uncle who, up until he was in his forties when someone clued him up, believed you had to stay up until 2am in order to change the clocks. He’d never once grasped that he could do it in the morning. He’d be absolutely knackered, head nodding, but he’d power through and force himself to stay up. He’s otherwise a normal, successful, intelligent man, too. What an amazing blind spot to have.

My dad was one of those who'd change as many clocks as he could as early as he could.  It could be evening time, mid afternoon, whenever he felt like it. The only way we knew the actual time was by looking at the video because we all knew the silly old fucker couldn't put a cassette in the thing, let alone change the time on it.  One year I thought it would be a wheeze to change them back after he'd changed them.  I can tell you the beating I got for doing that wasn't an hour late.
