Guest Posted October 22, 2018 Share Posted October 22, 2018 I watched some of this last night, pretty fun sometimes intentionally sometimes not Mad seeing 2018 bookings of Jazz, Crimson & Shannon Moore. Jazz was alright though! Willie Mack winning that 1930s looking belt was pretty fun stuff. He is very endearing from what I've seen and he can go in the ring certainly. Interviewer introducing "Rory Dory Funk Jr." was a laugh and it'll be intriguing to see if they get a decent line up for the Crockett Cup revival. Main event was alright, overperformed much like their All In match but not on that level of excitement - few hundred watching rather than 10k innit. The crowd were good though and helped everything along. Overall a solid-ish show that definitely provided something different to the typical 2018 indie show. Some woeful production and some chuckle-worthy bookings but could've been a lot, lot worse. Cornette was decent value on commentary throughout. Aldis regaining the Ten Pounds can piss right off though, he is such a bland bastard. If not Cody, then they need to find someone a lot more interesting to carry the modern NWA brand. Has all the attributes to make it as a huge star, yet for some reason seems to lack the know-how to put it all together and make it work. He's got a great look, he's extremely capable physically, he seems to get that you don't need to hit high spot after high spot to have a good match, and he understands the need for being outgoing and vocal on the mike, yet he just ends up coming across as a guy acting like a guy who knows these things, doing them mechanically because he's been told that's what good workers do, without the spark or real understanding that ties them all together.
