Keith Houchen
Yeah, supermarkets are starting to see the benefit of the vegan pound and the growing market, so they want a slice of that pie. It's great having a choice, back when I were a lad it was a nut roast or nothing. And I don't mean in a Black Beast kind of way.
Sphinx
The one pots from Aldi are decent. I've had the West African Peanut and Chickpea but I'm keen on getting the Mexican Bean and Sweet Potato with Quinoa when I'm next in. They're £2. SuperBacon
Fuck sake, cocaine is a boring drug for boring people. There is also not much wrong with doing cocaine and being vegan. This isn't rocket science and it's getting tedious, just round and round in circles. Anyway, I had this bad boy last night: https://ibb.co/cB5NHq Fucked if I can remember how to post a sodding picture, but it's Waitrose Caulifower, Coconut and Chickpea pie. Lovely stuff. Although I don't think I could be vegan full time as I love cheese too much and vegan cheese is shit, I'd definitely be interested in any recipes anyone has, especially for one tray bake type of things, or anything I can chuck on a roasting tray in the oven (I don't have a lot of cooking pans, or utensils really)

Keith Houchen
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/traders-revealed-manchester-vegan-christmas-15374753?fbclid=IwAR0E71sLBR6N-n01eSa3-NnzqpoKSLlxDm3T1MHvoPI_EkF3jWpy6bo5MMY Vegan Christmas Market going on in Manchester for a couple of days. Beautiful setting, too. The Manchester Christmas markets are a hotbed of festive activity in the city centre, but with the abundance of cheese stalls, hog roast and German sausage, it's not a very vegan-friendly affair. This year, vegans can have their bratwurst and eat it too, at an alternative, plant-based Christmas fair. The Manchester Vegan Christmas Festival will take place at the Grade II-listed Victoria Baths this December. The event will feature a 100% vegan market with street food, artisan food products and more stalls selling a host of great gift ideas. Food stalls will serve up an array of vegan treats, including traditional Christmas bratwurst and other Bavarian treats. A range of vegan doughnuts will be served up by Doughliciousss, plus there'll be warm cookie dough, ice cream, and chocolates from the Vegan Choc Shop. Vegan doughnuts from Doughliciousss (Image: Manchester Evening News) Even plant-based pups will be catered for by Vegan Poochy treats. To drink, there will of course be mulled wine, hot chocolate, as well as vegan cocktails, a fine selection of First Chop beers and Steep Soda soft drinks. Plus, sample a range of all-natural wines from the vegan wine shop, and find the perfect bottle to take home for yourself or loved ones. A plastic and packaging free venture, Flourish encourages shoppers to bring their own jars, bottles, bags, or whichever container of choice, to take home food in. There will also be beautiful Scandinavian-style jewellery and homewares from Nordic Muse. Scandi-inspired jewellery and homeware from Nordic Muse (Image: Manchester Evening News) The festive season can be a hectic time of year, so visit the Take a Breather stall with Chris, who will be offering Indian head massages and other express treatments at the event. For the kids, there will be a Santa’s Grotto and craft centre where they can make small Christmas decorations to take home. Live music will be playing all weekend courtesy of the house Oompah band. Flourish - Manchester's first zero waste shop (Image: Manchester Evening News) The event will raise funds for Manchester’s homeless charity Barnabus who will be on hand offering charity gift wrapping services for any purchases made at the festival. Plus, they'll be showcasing some of their ReNu furniture which has been restored by members of Manchester's homeless community. The Manchester Vegan Christmas Festival takes place at the Victoria Baths on December 1 and 2, from 10am to 5pm both days. Early bird tickets are on sale now and cost £5 for adults and £3 for children, with free entry for children under five. Tickets are available here. UK Kat Von D
Recently we touched on abattoir workers losing their jobs, and one of my points was that it is an awful job which people don’t really want to do anyway. Farmers Weekly recently put out an article saying lots of posititions had been left unfilled in the run up to Christmas because no one wants to do the work. Plenty of new outlets have picked the story up now and the Guardian did a decent bit on it https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/nov/19/christmas-crisis-kill-dinner-work-abattoir-industry-psychological-physical-damage?CMP=fb_gu “Slaughterhouse work has been linked to a variety of disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder and the lesser-known perpetration-induced traumatic stress. It has also been connected to higher incidents of domestic violence, as well as alcohol and drug abuse. A pig slaughterer said the “worst thing” about the work is its “emotional toll”. He explained: “Pigs down on the kill floor have come up and nuzzled me like a puppy. Two minutes later I had to kill them – beat them to death with a pipe.” A worker at a chicken plant said one of his colleagues was “hauled off to the mental hospital” after he “kept having nightmares that chickens were after him”.” Edited November 20, 2018 by UK Kat Von D

Is Scott Steiner in charge? It seems widely inefficient and unnecessarily brutal! These are easily the closest thing to meat sausages I've tried, I genuinely think you'd be hard-pushed to know the difference between these and standard supermarket sausages. Had in a breakfast and have also tried with mash, worked well for both. Would recommend really highly!

UK Kat Von D
Abattoirs use pipes to kill animals yeah. Imagine the amount of animals they kill every day, if something doesn’t go to plan and the animal is screaming and in pain, most people would grab some sort of tool to speed the process along and put the animal out of its misery. There are videos of it happening. Usually a pig would be gassed, I’ve listened to them scream in pain for long periods of time while they die. It is kind of odd that you ignored higher rates of domestic violence and systems which ignore workers rights to try and find a plot hole.
